  1. QUOTE (BrianAnderson @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 03:01 PM) The fact that this is news just means that we a) really need some news b) really need the season to start and c) really can't stand Garcia This.
  2. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 12:58 PM) EyeEmojiGate Eyemojigate*
  3. QUOTE (Kevtrem @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 12:09 PM) If we let this thread get to 300 before Yo signs, I would be ashamed and embarrassed for us all. I would be a bit if he signs somewhere else. If he signs with us...time well spent.
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 10:54 AM) The Nationals need a CF. I don't think Cespedes is a CF. Would they move Harper to CF? Would they want to do that? They traded for Ben Revere to play center.
  5. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 10:39 AM) C'mon, man. The White Sox are not signing Pedro Alvarez. And I sure hope they don't sign Desmond.
  6. Austin Jackson would be a nice addition in my opinion. No draft pick, no long term commitment, better than what we have. If they add him, I'm ok with no further moves.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 10:17 AM) I think Jim Bowden said the 3 finalists thing today As for my opinion, Nats seem to be in to raise the price for the Mets While also screwing us.
  8. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 09:07 AM) There's the key. Now if they could only manage to figure out how to do that two years in a row. Baby steps...let's first manage to get to ONE play off series at this point.
  9. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/01/padr...des-market.html Padres monitoring the Cespedes market now.
  10. QUOTE (Dunt @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 04:09 PM) I love going to those early season games. No on there, you can sit anywhere, no lines for anything...it's pretty great. Almost like every other game that isn't a giveaway day haha
  11. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 02:15 PM) Am I absolutely lost at this point. There is some weird stuff going on in the White Sox media right now. I will say that. Any hints or clues as to what's going on?
  12. QUOTE (LDF @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 01:49 PM) great question. i was wondering if Hou with evan gattis... misspell being moved. i have been thinking of this since sunday. If the Orioles maybe move Trumbo to the outfield, then possibly them. Don't see any other fits however.
  13. I wonder where Alvarez is going to end up actually. Don't see any teams needing him.
  14. QUOTE (LDF @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 01:43 PM) but my statement was not meant for the sox, it was, and if you go back, meant for any other team who looses out on upton and cespy..... other options..... and yes... at DH Makes sense for a team that misses out on them AND has an opening at DH. Alvarez does not play outfield.
  15. QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 01:40 PM) Alvarez is a good hitter. He'd be an upgrade at DH. While probably true, LaRoche isn't going anywhere.
  16. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 01:39 PM) Dude, he's not a good hitter. Low average and low on base. Where would you play him? He's not an OFer. Only thing he does is hit home runs. I'm with you. Good hitter or not, where does he play?
  17. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 01:20 PM) How is that bold? lol Because it's like 40 pages away lol idk I'm bored at work a on my lunch break.
  18. QUOTE (LDF @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 01:18 PM) you are forgetting melky's contract unless i am misunderstanding what you posted. He is a free agent after 17.
  19. Bold prediction: this thread gets to 300 pages before Cespedes signs anywhere.
  20. Where would the Nats play Cespedes if they got him? I guess they could try to move Revere but I thought he would leadoff for them. I don't really know who would if they dealt him.
  21. QUOTE (LDF @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 11:47 AM) anyone has any idea of the tax??? i thought the tax is, around 160 mil + Think it's about $189 mil.
  22. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 09:38 AM) Hypothetically, if Cespedes' camp told the White Sox FO that they would accept a deal exactly like Upton's, would the Sox do it? Would you guys as fans be ok with it if they did? Cut a year or two off with likely a little bit higher AAV and I'd do it.
  23. QUOTE (oneofthemikes @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 08:24 AM) At least that way, the fans know that the team is going to be bad. Then the front office can stop selling false hope disguised as a baseball team. Personally, I think committing to a rebuild is the right thing to do. If you look around the league at the teams that have done that lately, they have themselves in a position to stay competitive for years to come. While I sort of agree with the rebuilding, this is Jerry we're talking about. The Sox are not going through a rebuild until Jerry is gone.
  24. There's gotta be a creative way to make a deal happen. Whether it's a signing bonus, a 5th or 6th year option worth around 7.5-10 mill, deferrals, a combo of all 3, we need to do something.
  25. Why do people still make a big deal about strike outs? Didn't Trout lead the league the year he was runner up MVP? It all depends on what you do with your other at bats.
