  1. If they are willing to take a package of our prospects of anyone but Anderson and Fulmer, I'd be for it. But it all depends on how motivated they want to move him and who else is interested. You never know.
  2. QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 08:27 AM) I would take a risk on either Fuenmayor or Blash as RH DH platoon options if either lasts til 10. I think we have the flexibility to carry an extra guy like that with Saladino, Sanchez, and Trayce having great versatility defensively. If not I always like the option of taking a kid who can throw 98 and seeing what happens. I've seen enough from the likes of Putnam, Webb, Carrol, ect to take a risk on someone new Rockies should really take Fuenmayor if he's still there.
  3. Worth mentioning we have 9th pick due to a team in front of us (Tigers) having a full 40-man roster.
  4. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 08:03 AM) One thing the team doesn't need, IMO, is a utility infielder. Saladino and Sanchez both look better than the options available to me. My guess is, they don't pick anyone. But if they do, they grab an arm. More likely, they will lose someone. And of course they will probably be active in the minor league phase. Yeah most likely an arm but competition isn't a bad thing. And as of now those two are our starters at second and short.
  5. QUOTE (Dunt @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 08:13 AM) As an aside, looks like they reran his steamer projections since the trade and his SLG% went up about 30 pts. I dont think it's unfair to think he could be a 20 HR hitter this season. Agree.
  6. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 11:56 PM) Good grief. Between the Braves and Phillies, those farms have some serious talent. Should be interesting to see how those kids develop over the next few years. Philli did well. In a couple years when the Braves develop some guys and are ready to compete, a deal for Quintana or Sale could make sense...just saying.
  7. QUOTE (bjm676 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 07:56 PM) Scott Merkin ‏@scottmerkin 1h1 hour ago Nashville, TN Hahn said a couple of potential fits through tomorrow's Rule 5 Draft. But that wouldn't be the answer to an major team question I bet they draft an infielder or outfielder to compete for a bench spot.
  8. Thoughts? Still not that pretty but the offseason isn't over yet.
  9. QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 09:06 PM) Get Upton and Frazier and subtract Avi and LaRoche...I'm legit excited about this team for 2016. If those moves happen I will be. I love this move but we are still a couple bats away.
  10. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 09:05 PM) I too would like that. I do not want to rely on an Abreu LaRoche Garcia or Lawrie middle of the order. So please make it happen!
  11. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 08:58 PM) No but he confirmed it. He didn't say they were definitely trying just that it is a possibility since he Lawrie has played second.
  12. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 08:54 PM) Interesting... He didn't say anything none of us already knew haha
  13. QUOTE (ozzfest @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 08:55 PM) I'll be pissed if Danny Valencia has a better year than Lawrie. We could have gotten Valencia for nothing last year. No we couldn't have. A's had higher waiver priority.
  14. Olt gets dfa'd in 3...2....1....
  15. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 08:54 PM) No I gotcha, it makes it hard to pick up the ball or at least follow it. Yes it's awful.
  16. QUOTE (dpd9189 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 08:48 PM) Not a Cub fan but Lawrie had a 0.6 WAR last year. This is nothing more than a stop gap move. If people think he's the long term answer at 3rd, he's not. Even if we still end up sucking next year, still hard to hate this move since we gave up close to nothing. Still have the main core of our minors pitching depth.
  17. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 08:48 PM) Agreed I meant to say it's more obnoxious in the game. I might have worded it weird the first time.
  18. I'd prefer Heyward. Don't care that it's more money. He won't be around after year 4/5 around anyway.
  19. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 08:41 PM) Already nerded it out and tried him out in the Show. When he dips the bat forward I don't think it's that obnoxious as it is in real life. It's kind of annoying to play with haha
  20. Nice move. Still need more work though.
  21. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 08:07 PM) Is Shuck involved or not? If he is, I'm pretty bummed. Nah. 4th outfielder. We have Thompson for that.
  22. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 07:38 PM) There is a myriad of threads discussing infield options. Not sure why we needed another. This
  23. QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 06:45 PM) that works for me. Oh God...after last night's trade I'm picturing Quintana for Trea Turner and like 4-5 other guys (mix of position players and pitchers).
  24. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 06:44 PM) If the Sox were willing to move Tim Anderson they could probably do better than Frazier. I know the win now crowd is ready but I couldn't trade Anderson for two years of Todd Frazier when you have other glaring holes on the roster. Agree. For me he has to go for at least a guy with 3 years of control.
  25. Thinking he just means in general since its the last night.
