FWIW, no one actually reported that the deal was imminent, just that it was being discussed.
-
To be fair, Grissom himself just graduated off the top 100 prospect list (still has 6 years of control) and younger than about half the Dodgers prospects discussed on this board. He's being treated like he's just declined and fell off the T100 list or something. I think you're putting too much emphasis on a label. Any of these prospects being talked about that debuted last year that would start the season at the MLB level in 2024 on the Sox would also have 6 years.

Can easily shift Lopez to a bench role.

Ohtani Watch: Dodgers sign - 700M over 10yrs

And Will Smith too. From what I can tell, no one was slapped. -
Only if he hits left-handed.
-
I don't understand this. Unless you mean trading for a Boras client.
-
Personally, I'm not a believer in every single Tweet being purposeful, ha.
-
And a hypothetical 1-year signing of Kershaw. Also Glasnow. Also, this brings up a great question on if Ohtani will be in a 6-man rotation in 2025 like he has been his whole MLB career to this point.
-
I'd say maybe even extend it to 5 pieces. But who knows, AA could end up being more aggressive than the Reds and O's GMs.
-
Dodgers rotation (assuming Pepiot is traded for Glasnow): 1. Buehler 2. Glasnow 3. Miller 4. Yarbrough 5. Sheehan Kershaw will probably re-sign. I feel like Yarbrough is better as a long-man/6th starter type. Sheehan or Miller could hypothetically be a part of a Cease deal. I agree though, it depends on if they get Yamamoto.
-
Also, should we really assume that the Dodgers dealing Pepiot + 1 other guy for Glasnow ($25M salary) would not have continued interest in Cease, who is going to make about $8.5M? They'll still be trying to add another arm.
-
AA is an aggressive GM. I think they could deal two top 100 prospects, Grissom, and then 2 other prospects if they wanted to. Don't think Braves are dealing Kelenic.
-
Yeah Randy to LF then and then Heyward/Taylor platoon in the other I would guess.
-
Yeah I feeling this is going to be a bad contract in no time.
-
Yeah I feel like the KBO position players haven’t been good overall here.
-
To Giants for 6 years, $113M.
-
I didn't realize how solid he has been in his career.
-
-
I did see in the updated note about Stassi that he's costing the Braves about $9M with the tax hit.
-
2026 would be Lux's last season of control. That does the Sox no good.
-
Yeah this is what I wanted but figured it would come in the form of Austin Hedges, who just signed for $4M yesterday. I like this better.

Chicago Cubs Offseason Outlook brought to to you by Caulfield

Damn, I didn't get to see it lol -
Yeah, currently a lot of question marks in that rotation behind Buehler with May and Gonsolin out a while. Gotta assume Kershaw will be back on a 1-year deal probably (holding down Ohtani's spot until 2025). Probably need at least 2 more arms.
-
It would be hard to mess this up considering all they really need to do is patch the MLB team with bodies. Curious to see who ends up being the RF because it ain't going to be Colas and it shouldn't be Sheets.
-
Yeah, like I said, I don't love the idea of trading for another C. Maybe Pages like you said. Outman is probably their starting CF as of now.
