  1. I think he was referring to the O's dealing their starting 2B.
  2. I feel like the Sox probably want the best 2 pieces in a deal to be a position player and pitcher. 3rd, and possibly 4th, pieces can be farther away.
  3. I don't know, to me filler wouldn't be guys in the top 10 of a farm system. But I guess that would also depend on the farm (filler from the O's would definitely be outside top 10) IMO.
  4. I don't think he meant "lotto tickets" per se, but I also don't think that means "anyonne outside the top 100." I'm thinking the rest of the package is built with a guy or two from an organizations's 10-30, 15-40 range of a team's sytem.
  5. That's definitely less than some of the deals we talk about here (like Povich as a 3rd piece from O's).
  6. Urias doesn’t really have value. Basically just a throw-in piece.
  7. If Mayo can’t stick at 3B, I don’t really love the fit. Unless he can play an average OF defense.
  8. From what you've heard or just your own speculation?
  9. Yeah, I don’t really like the signings of both Lynn and Gibson. Maybe one as the 5th starter but not both. I’m sure Cubs will be favorites once they add two of Bellinger/Hoskins/Chapman.
  10. They’re probably a contender for their division already. Thats all that matters. Just gotta get in. That division is pretty open, even though I think Cards probably bounce back and win it. Those good organizations don’t stay bad long.
  11. They seem like a team that wants to contend but won’t spend money to do so. The fact he would be in the same spot as Burnes a year later is kind of irrelevant.
  12. Trade for Cease, bump Houser to the pen. Make the rotation and pen stronger.
  13. I don't think signing Stroman should deter them from trading for Cease. Someone posted the rotation with the last couple pages and he can definitely bump Clarke Schmidt to the pen. Might be better to add Cease and Stroman than just signing Snell. Plus, Rodon is no picture of health and Cortes missed time last year.
  14. A lock to miss time.
  15. Well in order to throw more inning, you need to first be able to stay on the mound. Something he hasn’t done yet in any season.
  16. I think you send him to Charlotte and build innings there rather than burning more service time at the MLB level.
  17. I’m not the one who suggested him. I was just correcting you.
  18. Please Angels, please. Traded the little prospect capital you had. Might as well keep spending.
  19. Idk but I would have preferred the Cubs as an option for Cease over the Angels. Not that I think they’re that interested.
  20. With this current group, they're going to need a couple of long-relievers in the pen.
  21. They got Whit Merrifield on speed dial just waiting to see how the Cease situation shakes out.
  22. Low-risk, low-reward. That's what you get when you want to be very cheap.
  23. Definitely, unless they get an MLB ready player for Cease.
  24. I'll believe in when I see it. And I mean not as a 2-3 inning guy.
