If a team wants to give you prospects for him, deal him. But being controlled for 3 years, I lean towards holding onto him and seeing if he has more value next year or after next year.

This can’t be emphasized enough. The team’s (at this point rotten) core being fully healthy for even half a season is a mirage.

If he wants to continue working in Major League Baseball, he won’t.

Outside of Giolito, this pitching is trash.

Earlier on the Bernstein and Holmes show, they talked about why Eric Hosmer is on the Cubs roster for a solid 15 mins (at least, I got to where I needed to be and turned it off). Apparently there was a quote from the Cubs front office that he is a veteran for Mervis to look to and that's basically his only role. What do you call Mancini, Swanson, Happ, Barnhart, Gomes?

Why is Suzuki even being compared here? He signed a different off-season.
