It should start no earlier than the 13th. Gives teams another turn through the batting order to try to win it the old way.

There's a difference between a guy with a guaranteed contract and a guy who is going to clear waivers since no one will touch him.

We’re talking about a minor league deal. Things can change between now and Opening Day like someone (Grandal, Zavala) gets hurt. Or someone else opening up at bats at DH.

I’ve come around to the idea of signing Andrus to about $2M (like you suggest), having him compete for the 2B job in Spring Training and if someone out plays him, he’s your backup MI.
