  1. Just saw that. It appears to cover his final 3 years of arbitration.
  2. But are they super serial? In all seriousness, I saw last week that the Mets want to fill multiple holes at the MLB level so they can compete if they trade him. They might as well trade deGrom and Wheeler and start a massive rebuild if they're going to trade Noah.
  3. Signing Nelson Cruz would be the exception. I can't quite remember, but didn't someone provide stats later in the season showing that Palka had actually improved over the course of the season defensively? If the Sox could find a cheap, right-handed, at least average defender (not Engel please) to platoon with him in RF, I'd be fine rolling with that in RF.
  4. Noticed Dietrich and Cron were dfa'd yesterday (seriously, get rid of the Florida teams). Dietrich likely won't be a free agent long and someone in the comments section on MLBTR pointed out if he were to sign with the Indians, he would be an upgrade. That's how bad the Indians OF situation is. I've always felt he has a solid bat. As for Cron, probably makes a good amount of sense in Colorado?
  5. Looks like a ploy to gain more interest from other teams (Yankees aren't exactly set at 1B like they are the OF, for example).
  6. Yeah I'd say that's a pretty big reach considering it wouldn't matter if there wasn't room on the 40. You would just open a spot then. And also, it's not guaranteed we sign either.
  7. Yeah he could make sense on a rebuilding team with no depth. Just not really worth much.
  8. I'm good with them going with 1-year deal types for 2019, but for 2020, I wouldn't mind them being active on the SP market since it is deeper.
  9. Exactly. There is risk in every deal (except the minor league signings really. Or one year deals).
  10. And they have almost a month to clear it. Tonight is the deadline for guys to be added and guys can still be taken off. Non-tendering Avi would do this as that deadline is the end of the month. I also feel like we could see fringey type guys moved for nothing to clear space at some point (the Nick Delmonicos of the world dealt to a rebuilding team needing bodies at the MLB level).
  11. He can't. Robert injured, er I mean, broke one of them.
  12. It takes the roster to 39 but we need to maneuver to add a guy? I don't follow as there is a spot open. Unless you meant adding both those guys.
  13. Agreed. Plus the non-tender deadline is the end of this month so non-tendering Avi, assuming no other moves, would open a spot.
  14. The usual. Last day of Winter Meetings.
  15. There's a ton of interest to the point where I think the winning team gets him at 4 years.
  16. Should be some small trades today. Not necessarily the White Sox but teams in general trying to move guys for PTBNL or cash to clear space on the 40-man.
  17. I remember a lot of people said he sucked those years he was with the Mariners. But looking back at it, his numbers weren't bad. Crazy how he only signed a 5-year deal (worth $68m) coming off his monster age 25 season in free agency.
  18. I can say that about any of the movies honestly.
  19. That doesn't really matter if he's getting paid the same.
  20. Um...what? Not a lack of thought. We just think the idea is plain stupid. And it is. You don't rush guys to the big leagues just to make the season "interesting." In fact, I think most would prefer they kept them down in the minors until you know, they're actually ready to play? And in the meantime, sign guys to 1-2 year deals with the idea of flipping again.
