Running out of guys to trade. Have this guy under control through 2019. Might be better off holding onto him until next deadline. He is doing good against lefties this year however.

They get an MLB ready bat to stick in the order when he is healthy/Melky gets dealt. Good get for 2 months of a guy having a career year. Can't say I expected that. Holding onto Swarzak would have been pointless. I would have no problem with them re-signing him, even if it has to be multiple years.

We get a bat who can plug into an OF spot immediately when he is healthy and when Melky and possibly Garcia are moved. We don't have many bats in the system that are close or ready for another 2-3 years so he gets an opportunity to prove himself during that time.

I'm gonna go with yes as a mid-rotation guy.

He's having a great year, but there were factors working against the Sox dealing Swarzak: other relievers still on market, the fact he is a rental, and no track record.
