  1. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ May 17, 2017 -> 04:09 PM) I like Rosenthal rumors. Houston and Pitt match up well for trade partners so who knows. Pirates fans are probably happy they kept their prospects (granted Meadows hasn't been good this year). Definitely need more than Q to be good. No Kang for likely a full year and no Marte for half a season hurts. And Freese always seems to go on the dl consistently.
  2. QUOTE (Moncada @ May 17, 2017 -> 04:06 PM) He is up to 44 now. I got a long way to go t0 catch up to him, I'm at 3 right now. I'm at 6 lol

  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 17, 2017 -> 10:06 AM) When LaTroy was with the Cubs, he lived in a building right where LaSalle and Clark meet on the south end of Lincoln Park. My friend lived on the same floor, and LaTroy had 2 apartments. One was just filled with shoes. I guess if you have the money you can totally rent out a second place for storage.
  5. QUOTE (oldsox @ May 17, 2017 -> 12:04 PM) Was it just two years ago when Nats blew a big lead and fell out of playoffs? They should make a bullpen trade with someone. I think he was talking about in means of dealing the farm for someone.
  6. I still want do deal with the Yankees. I didn't think it was likely since I didn't think the Yankees would be as competitive as they are (still time to flame out) but they should be interesting to follow over the next 2 months.
  7. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ May 17, 2017 -> 10:09 AM) When Moncada comes up, I think 3B will be split mainly between Saladino and Yolmer. They'll both get looks at 2B and SS when Tim and Moncada need breathers. Having too many useful guys isn't a problem. I doubt either will be traded. Both wouldn't have much value, and they're cheap. Makes more sense to keep them unless someone wants to give up something interesting. Also, after Frazier is dealt.
  8. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ May 17, 2017 -> 09:04 AM) It doesn't make sense for them to chase a title now considering Harper will walk after 2018? I don't get that logic at all. If anything they should do whatever they can possibly do now to win this year and next. Yeah I don't understand that that logic either. But I do agree with him that I think Nats will be interested in Q but will shy away from the price (likely a lot of teams will).
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 17, 2017 -> 12:42 AM) So I have an original Nintendo, power pad, power glove, duck hunt glove and robot, and I was offered 1,000 for all of it tonight. I just couldnt part with it. Kinda feel like you might be able to get more for that.
  10. QUOTE (Sleepy Harold @ May 16, 2017 -> 05:47 PM) Charlie Tilson nearing a return?? Maybe Shields or Rodon?
  11. QUOTE (flavum @ May 16, 2017 -> 01:40 PM) I don't know if that's true, but he does get a couple weekends off per season. The Sox are in Phoenix next week, so he gets a week straight at home. I feel like it's always Whimpy when they play in Seattle.
  12. QUOTE (flavum @ May 16, 2017 -> 01:20 PM) Hawk and Wimpy in Seattle. Any reason why Stone never goes to Seattle?
  13. QUOTE (ptatc @ May 16, 2017 -> 11:58 AM) I will go because I love watching the game of baseball. Cheap tickets, easy commute to get there (free parking if you know where to go), good times with friends and family. I can't wait until it is consistently warm out (hopefully this weather is here to stay).
  14. QUOTE (yesterday333 @ May 16, 2017 -> 11:50 AM) I think the cubs are a great partner for the sox. With their starting pitching situation and their prospects it makes too much sense. Is Happ, Jemenez, and Cadelario too much to ask? I do think they match up perfectly as well. And I would definitely start the discussion there.
  15. Indians promote Bradley Zimmer. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/05/indi...rlos-frias.html
  16. QUOTE (Soha @ May 16, 2017 -> 11:14 AM) I agree with this, though to me that makes him a better off-season trade candidate. On another note - did you all see the Daily Herald is proposing a Quintana for Schwarber straight up trade? http://www.dailyherald.com/sports/20170515...a-for-schwarber Wow that is awful haha a deal with the Cubs starts with Happ and/or Jimenez.
  17. Shoulda picked Trout vs. Pelfrey. That seems like a no-brainer.
  18. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ May 16, 2017 -> 12:33 AM) Pelfrey and Covey are now a combined 0-7 for the season. Folks those guys are really, really bad. ERA's are 5 1/2 and 8 respectively. Lost again in Anaheim. That's something like 13 of 16 there since 2012. Anaheim is the latest in a long line of Sox "House of Horrors." I know some will say, "the Sox are rebuilding...who cares?" I disagree with that notion. These guys are getting bombed out early night after night putting a major strain on the bullpen. That bullpen includes some guys who may be trade pieces in a few months. If they are overworked, ineffective the Sox won't even be able to get a Single A type prospect for any of them. Personally even in a rebuilding year, I'd rather the Sox promote some borderline kids out of the minor league system who may have a future. Give them a shot and see what if anything they can do. And I'm not talking about the top prospects, let them stay in the minors and learn their craft. The Sox may find a kid or two who actually has a future with the team...we know Covey and Pelfrey have no future. Period. Just my opinion. Guys. Aren't. Ready. I don't get why people are having such a hard time getting this.
  19. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ May 15, 2017 -> 08:45 PM) So you have to pick 2 guys to get a hit each night? Or do just 1 of 2 need a hot? If you pick 2, they both need a hit. Double or nothing.
  20. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ May 15, 2017 -> 08:34 PM) Carrerra still hitless after leading off the 7th with an out. He may get one more shot in the 9th.....but chances running out. Was an interesting choice.
  21. QUOTE (Wanne @ May 15, 2017 -> 09:59 AM) Red Sox aren't giving up Devers...why give up the best prospect you have at a position of need for them? Just don't see it happening... I don't actually either. Read my post again.
  22. QUOTE (oldsox @ May 15, 2017 -> 08:08 AM) C'mon, Josh. This was such an obvious waste of financial resources when the trade came down. We were doing the Padres a Huge favor by taking whatshisname off their hands. Granted, Tatis, Jr. had not yet played in the states, but Sox scouted him, paid him a bunch of money, and before we knew it, he is a legitimate prospect. And granted, the name Luis Robert was not yet on our lips, but there was a lot of talk about signing international talent. There were members here who criticized the trade immediately, not necessarily because of the Tatis inclusion, but because of the other half of the trade. Padres are still playing more money. You can look at it as: Padres gave up a ton of money and a draft pick (when they signed Shields) to acquire Tatis.
  23. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 15, 2017 -> 07:52 AM) How can one wake up to an alarm clock that makes no sounds? I thought about it and it would just be soundbites of Hawk/Benneti/Stone saying his name lol
  24. QUOTE (oldsox @ May 15, 2017 -> 07:54 AM) Last night, several ESPN folks were babbling about Astros having such a great team and were certain buyers at the July trading deadline. They should definitely trade for Q. Too lazy to look up thrir SP stats (I have Keuchel and McCullers on one fantasy team so I know how they are doing). Can anyone post the rest?
  25. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ May 15, 2017 -> 07:13 AM) Count me in for the number retirement ceremony and statue unveiling sometime next season. When can we expect the Cody Asche alarm clock?
