Sort of feel like this tweet sums up the entire Ryan Pace experience. It's like the perfect move. Mis-identify QB at the top of the draft? ☑️ Give up unnecessary assets to acquire said QB? ☑️ Lose out on talented player in the 2nd round? ☑️ Get cute and draft a TE from Ashland University (?!?) in the 2nd round? ☑️ It doesn't even mention the Bears then having to go out in the next off-season and give Trey Burton a 4/32 million dollar deal because they realized in training camp Adam Shaheen didn't know how to play football. And then when the Burton experiment failed, they gave Jimmy Graham a 2/16 million dollar deal, who is currently the third highest paid offense player on the Bears and in 11 games this year has 16 catches for 108 yards. Oh yeah! I almost forgot the Bears also spent a 2nd round pick in 2020 on Cole Kmet! Ryan Pace, everyone.

Correct and in my opinion, this team healthy has shown us enough to know what they are capable of. Just gotta get everyone healthy, this next stretch doesn't really tell us a lot with half the roster out.

This is less than ideal.

It's a little slow and I really don't find the Hawkeye/Clint Barton character that interesting.....but I also didn't expect a 6 part Hawkeye series to change the world, and I enjoy watching it....so it's fine for what it is. Not everything needs to be unbelievable, being good is fine sometimes.

Is it a bad sign no Sox players are being taken by other teams? ?
-
What is a fair package for him?
-
I could see them trying to get Thad Young back, but it sounds like he was a little pissed at how they handled the trade situation last year.
-
My thought was the Sox know Rodon better than anyone, and we've all heard the work ethic stuff. If that's true, I can totally understand not wanting to give a multi-year deal to a guy you're worried might not push himself once he gets that "long term deal" But if that's true, not offering him the QO doesn't seem to make much sense. Seems like it's very little risk. Worst case, he's back with your club on a one year deal where he is still looking for that long term deal.

This coming from a guy who can’t go a post with throwing in a “fucking” or “shitty” Those really help hammer home your point as well…

When you 97 million, is that in reference to how many times you've posted the same bullshit in every post? We get it, we know where you stand. Give the rest of us a break.

Can we pin this somewhere?
-
How do we still not know the numbers here?
-
Well this should go over well...
-
Maybe this is why they aren't spending. I was told by many the playoffs are a total crapshoot and all you need to do is make it....so why spend when you're already one of the better teams in MLB?

I'm pretty torn on the Sox right now. On one hand, I think they are in a much different situation than the Mets, Rangers, etc. who have made big splashes right now. The Sox don't really need to do that, persay. On the other hand, I'd be over the moon if JR and Rick said "Fuck it, this is it, go sign Max for the top of the rotation, let's figure it out after, 3 years won't kill us." But we know that's not how they operate.
-
And they simply can't have every player making 8 figures. As much as we want them to be, they simply aren't a Top 5 spending team and have a lot of money tied up in a lot of different places. They luckily don't hold a lot of "bad money" but Vaughn should provide them + production at a base level salary. That alone provides a decent amount of value. Trading Madrigal also impacted plans, as that's another position where money is now going to have to be spent.
-
I agree. They are competing against franchises that are just in totally different classes than they are. It's still a mom and pop shop.

Chris Taylor has remarkably even splits against RH and LH pitchers and would fit in very nicely with this team…as one option. I didn’t say I was against acquiring a RH hitting 2B. But just because someone doesn’t want to use Kimbrel to acquire Jean Segura doesn’t mean “they expect superstars at every position.”
-
Who is asking for that? Who even mentioned that? But it's fair to ask if acquiring someone like Jean Segura is redundant given how this lineup is currently constructed.
-
Seriously, anyone defending this organization, or hoping for the best, or being optimistic....just stop. I don't care if you're the most positive person in the world...this organization has given you NOTHING to latch onto in the form of hope. NOTHING

Don't let real stats get in the way of @iWiN4PreP not liking Semien because his ratings are low in MLB The Show....
-
It makes me very pleased they seem to realize adding a front line SP is vital…

The White Sox have won 3 Playoff series since 1917, and all 3 came in 2005. Chew on that for a second.
