I’m assuming the belief is Ramirez will win and his hits off Ruiz and Rodon are the reasons why.
-
Rowand was an excellent CF his entire career, and did so without the physical gifts Engel has. One of the rare “gritty” players whose defense was not overrated. As far as Ricky goes, I find it easier to lose games because guys are slumping. In those situations I feel bad for the players. I hate losing games because of stupidity and that’s my beef with Ricky. I think he kind of exposed himself last night with his comments about wanting to see how Rodon would perform in that spot. He’s always been all about player growth, which has been fine given the teams he’s managed. But he either has been incapable of switching mindsets to winning as priority number one, or simply isn’t capable of basic bullpen management. I still think he can be a valuable part of a coaching staff, but manager of a contender might be a role he isn’t suited for.

Looks like he might be saving the CH for second or third time through. -

Hard to believe they pissed that one away. Could have been a nice momentum builder. -

Be interesting to hear what Tim has to say after the game. Hasn’t been shy in the past. I think that’s a big insurance run we got. Can’t walk off without adding a base runner. -

I don’t want to be a doofus, but kinda feels like a game we aren’t going to win. -

Josh Naylor from Toronto “suburb” Mississauga. I used quotes bc Mississauga is bigger than Cleveland. -

Not really. They’re better than the Twins. -
American football has to be the most boring game in the world.

Moustakas is the picture definition of “doofus”.

I used to be a catcher, and I was pretty good so I played against some teams Votto was on. Votto would call the pitches out of the pitchers hand. Not to be an asshole, he would just talk to himself. I was calling the pitch, but he would say immediately “ball” or “slider” out loud to himself the second it left the pitchers hand. I hated him so much but appreciate him now. Some guys have it.

AJ isn’t a Votto fan. But Votto may as well be an umpire. Dude doesn’t swing at balls.

Trevor Bauer Thread (Mazara Free Zone)
Lukakke Appling replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Not really sure what to think here. On the one hand he’s obviously supremely talented, a fact that really can’t be debated. on the other hand, he’s a polarizing personality. But, I don’t think that’s as big of a deal with a starting pitcher. They usually do their own thing anyways. I don’t see this happening because of Coop, and not blaming either guy. I can’t see them meshing well. At all. -
Crochet definitely put himself on the map. What a debut. It’ll be interesting to see what he has if he’s looking to go 5+ innings. I would hope he’d dial it down.
-
I don’t think we can blame stiever for scoring 1 run. The loss is on him, absolutely, but he isn’t the reason we were a little lifeless.
-
Maybe, maybe not. We aren’t in the dugout. Just how I saw it.
-
I kind of expected this. Just finished a big series and they probably didn’t feel that intensity today. Hopefully they feel it tomorrow with Bauer going.
