  1. Yolmer hit .315/.374/.395 at WS as a 20 year old. Madrigal (before tonight) is .281/.354/.351 at age 22. Still too early to be super concerned, but I think at least some concern is warranted.
  2. Eloy in the OF reminds me of wacky inflatable arm flailing tube man.
  3. If they wanted to trade Narvaez for a long reliever/swingman I’m sure they could have.
  4. Literally? You’ve never seen a T-ball game? Those kids are brutal. As others have said, hitting isn’t easy. He’s a fantastic athlete, but athleticism isn’t a prerequisite for being a good hitter.
  5. It’s ridiculous how accurate this is.
  6. Glad Heuer got a mention. Really like what I see from him.
  7. Cordell not in the lineup for Charlotte tonight. Delmonico and Tilson are.
  8. Just for clarification to everyone, McCann won’t have the service time to be a free agent after the season. He should be arb eligible if they want to tender him a contract.
  9. The best I’ve seen his fastball is 94-95 and razor straight. That’s a 45/50 fastball if I’ve ever seen one.
  10. First off, sorry.. I reread my post and I sounded like a dick. But if you are going to assign grades, with mlb guys especially, you need to factor in the highs and lows. It’s movement, velocity, deception, overall ability to execute. I would say Shane Bieber has a 60+fb and reylo is 55, despite throwing harder. Gio has a 45/50fb and is a fringe starter/swingman. If I was giving him a fresh look and didn’t know his pedigree I wouldn’t give him a second thought Every pitcher looks elite when everything is working.
  11. His stuff was the same, the braves just weren’t prepped on him and weren’t good at the time. They missed a lot of hittable pitches.
  12. I thought he had a 70fb? Didn’t you say that last year? If all of his pitches are 55min why should he ditch his curve, as you suggested? Who ditches a 55 curve? Please stop trying to be a scout. I’ve worked in scouting. I’ve been down that road. It’s fun for a while, but it sucks once that while is done. Just try and enjoy the game. Scouting isn’t for you.
  13. I 100% understand the frustration. I feel it too. But I don’t see the satisfaction in someone getting fired because they’re the scapegoat for Hahn/Kenny being ineffective and Jerry being cheap.
  14. So he isn’t going to have Giolito’s HoF arsenal?
  15. Not really though. Arbitration awards the things Jiménez is expected to excel at.
  16. On the Sox website too as a main story. Kind of strange.
  17. Seems like there’s two types of old, rich guys. The spend it, go for it at all cost types, and the hoard all the money, everyone is out to get me guys. I guess there’s repercussions for both, but at least Detroit had a few fun years.
  18. Things even out. They aren’t giving up 8 runs a game. I don’t remember ever feeling so fed up with the franchise, but they aren’t losing 107 games.
  19. If that’s the case, I apologize. They aren’t historically bad. Just your run-of-the-mill bad team. I think, at least. It’s plenty bad, but seems worse because of context.
  20. Didn’t you suggest the Sox would break the all time loss record last season? The White Sox are a bad team, but they’re a better team than Baltimore and in a way easier division.
