  1. It’s paywalled, are there any other details?
  2. Yeah you might be right. I’m desperate for rumors.
  3. Never heard of this reporter, but thought I’d post here.
  4. Someone else mentioned Seranthony Dominguez, sign me up for that. Think he would be a nice addition.
  5. Forgot about him, he would be intriguing.
  6. I’d still like a leverage reliever as well, though the market is very picked over.
  7. Probably, but I would have liked to see him in this lineup to see if he could increase his value, because clearly he didn’t have much as of now. Oh well.
  8. This team looks so much worse without Robert, my god. That outfield is horrific.
  9. In fairness, the Sox could have traded Robert for a 16 year old in the DSL and this statement would still hold true. It doesn’t mean that Acuna and Pauley are anything special though.
  10. Did see this just now which is interesting.
  11. Well the fact that they needed to trade Robert just to pay Murakami is pathetic in itself, but this is a Jerry Reinsdorf owned franchise we’re talking about.
  12. Welcome Martin Perez, Michael Conforto, and Tommy Kahnle! Hooray!
  13. So they should have just kept Robert then because the reallocation of this $20 million won’t be on anyone of significance.
  14. The other thing I don’t understand about this is the timing. If they were going to dump Robert all along, why not do it at the beginning of the offseason? Because at this point, the free agent group is pretty picked over.
  15. Acuna’s lack of power concerns me a lot. And I know he just had that 4 HR game, but he has never hit for much if any power even in the minors. My only hope is that maybe Fuller sees something in him he thinks he can tweak. Either way, he’ll probably get a ton of run in CF because they have no one else.
  16. Yep. Robert is far from perfect and probably wasn’t going to be here long term anyway. But the framing of this whole thing is ridiculous.
  17. Yes, but trading Robert to create “financial flexibility” when they have like a $65 million payroll is not something that should be praised.
  18. It’s driving me nuts to see Merkin and all these other beat reporters posting these fluff pieces and tweets about having “financial flexibility” now that Robert is gone. Their payroll was one of the lowest even with him. What a load of crap.
  19. I would have rather just kept him than trade him for Leury Garcia 2.0 and a random pitcher who will never amount to anything.
  20. Awful trade. What a disgusting thing to wake up to. Traded him for a bunch of trash. I’m probably overreacting but whatever.
  21. I think Chris Bassitt is probably the best fit. Super durable, shouldn’t be that expensive, and is a veteran. He might want to go to a contender though.
  22. If they plan on making Newcomb a starter, they still need a lefty reliever. Might as well give this guy an audition in spring training.
  23. In his defense, it’s really tough to get playing time on the Dodgers. Could immediately get at-bats in LF or RF here.
  24. Either of these guys could be interesting for the Sox.
  25. Not wrong unfortunately. But if there was a scenario where they could keep him around long term at a reasonable rate and hit him towards the bottom part of the lineup, I would be happy. He’s a difference maker with the glove alone.
