  1. Acuna’s lack of power concerns me a lot. And I know he just had that 4 HR game, but he has never hit for much if any power even in the minors. My only hope is that maybe Fuller sees something in him he thinks he can tweak. Either way, he’ll probably get a ton of run in CF because they have no one else.
  2. Yep. Robert is far from perfect and probably wasn’t going to be here long term anyway. But the framing of this whole thing is ridiculous.
  3. Yes, but trading Robert to create “financial flexibility” when they have like a $65 million payroll is not something that should be praised.
  4. It’s driving me nuts to see Merkin and all these other beat reporters posting these fluff pieces and tweets about having “financial flexibility” now that Robert is gone. Their payroll was one of the lowest even with him. What a load of crap.
  5. I would have rather just kept him than trade him for Leury Garcia 2.0 and a random pitcher who will never amount to anything.
  6. Awful trade. What a disgusting thing to wake up to. Traded him for a bunch of trash. I’m probably overreacting but whatever.
  7. I think Chris Bassitt is probably the best fit. Super durable, shouldn’t be that expensive, and is a veteran. He might want to go to a contender though.
  8. If they plan on making Newcomb a starter, they still need a lefty reliever. Might as well give this guy an audition in spring training.
  9. In his defense, it’s really tough to get playing time on the Dodgers. Could immediately get at-bats in LF or RF here.
  10. Either of these guys could be interesting for the Sox.
  11. Not wrong unfortunately. But if there was a scenario where they could keep him around long term at a reasonable rate and hit him towards the bottom part of the lineup, I would be happy. He’s a difference maker with the glove alone.
  12. Looking at this lineup written out, I’d honestly rather keep Robert and hopefully extend him and just sign a veteran masher to DH. It’s a lot easier to find a DH than a CF with Robert’s defensive abilities.
  13. The more I think about it, wouldn’t it make more sense for the Mets just to sign Bellinger (or even Bader) than give up assets for Robert?
  14. I don’t know man, the Mets infield is super crowded now while their outfield is a disaster after Soto. They could possibly just sign Bellinger, but I feel like Robert is one of their best options at this point.
  15. If we’re trading for a Mets infielder, I’d rather have Baty.
  16. While he’s obviously not on Ohtani’s level, hopefully Murakami starts a new era for the Sox.
  17. Could potentially sign someone like Conforto or Winker as a NRI to create competition in spring training, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they just have Baldwin/Pereira/Kelenic play in the corners and call it a day. Seems like they’ve packed it up for the offseason already.
  18. Fair. I would like to see the Kelenic’s and Pereira’s of the world at least earn a roster spot in spring training though. It shouldn’t just be handed to them.
  19. Well I’m not in favor of giving up assets for him, but I saw a tweet where Nightengale said the Phillies will have to eat basically the entire contract just to get rid of him. If the Sox give up nothing and take him on for 1 year/$2 or $3 million, I wouldn’t hate it.
  20. Probably the better option, I’m just bored and want them to do something.
  21. Placeholder in RF until Montgomery is ready
  22. I’m talking myself into Nick Castellanos if the Phillies eat most or all of his contract.
  23. If Jerry had to be convinced just to sign Murakami, there is zero chance he will take on more salary just to get a random prospect. A bad salary swap involving Benintendi would be nice, but that’s easier said than done.
  24. I feel like a Robert for Senga framework could make some sense.
