I'd be cool with that. $350 million should hopefully be enough to get at least one of them to bite. I don't think the market for either of them is as big as people expected it to be.

I would offer Machado and Harper identical contracts right now: 10 years and $325 million with an opt out after year 5. The first to accept gets it.

As far as a trade does, I only have a few untouchables: - Eloy, Kopech, Cease, Robert, and Madrigal. Everyone else is available in the right deal.

Say the Sox add Harper and a couple other guys like Cruz, Donaldson, Happ, and a reliever. Combine that with hopeful improvements from Moncada, Anderson, Giolito, Rodon, Lopez, etc and I would hope that team would win more than 76 games.

If the Sox can put a good product on the field for once, people will show up.

I can't speak for what Cub fans would do, but I'm 99.9% sure Sox fans would pack the ballpark almost every night if for no other reason than to see Harper. He's that much of an attention getter.

^^^ I agree with this. Although 400 million or whatever amount they would sign him for is a ridiculous sum of money, he would be well worth the investment. Jersey sales, ticket packages, concessions, etc would all increase dramatically if they signed him. Not to mention the marketing opportunities.

Not sure where you're getting this from. As far as I can tell, the only Phillies player Harper is following on Instagram is Rhys Hoskins.

If Bryant had more team control it would be something I would want the Sox to look into. But 3 years isn't long enough for what it would require to get him.

I don't understand what the point of signing Harper would be if they're going to trade Bryant.

He'll probably meet with both the Sox and Cubs this weekend. I'd assume the meeting with the Sox will be at the United Center the day of the Bulls game.
