  1. Imagine if Q is traded and Rodon is hurt. We could be looking at a Shields/Gonzalez/Holland/Covey/TBA rotation. Holy f***.
  2. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 12:32 PM) Lol, I thought you had recently mentioned your age in another thread. That's why I kinda giggled when I read Mike's post. I knew it was a typo but just couldn't help myself. Mike's a good dude so I had to have a little fun with him. I love you too man.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 01:05 PM) It is much more reasonable to think it will take guys a full season or two to really get comfortable as major leaguers, once they get here. Agreed. Obviously 2017 is a lost year, but I don't think 2018 will be that much better. I've said 64-98 in 2017, so maybe 71-91 in 2018. By 2019, I hope they hover around .500, and by 2020, they'll be a playoff team if things go like they should.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 01:02 PM) Gregor saying rodon is not throwing during PFP. I did see another beat writer say Rodon did throw some today but haven't seen confirmation or video That's...not good.
  5. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 12:27 PM) I really think you guys aren't giving the roster enough credit in your predictions. It's not like all of our big prospects are many years away. The majority of them will be up as soon as 2017/2018, and we know that Hahn will make more moves in that span. I think we could be a fringe playoff team in 2018, and a contender as early as 2019. While I see what you're saying, your scenario is under the assumption that the key young guys (Moncada, Giolito, Lopez, etc) will establish themselves right away as productive big leaguers. That probably won't be the case. There might be a learning curve for these guys and it will probably take time for them to reach their ceilings if they reach them at all.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 12:53 PM) This is getting ominous https://mobile.twitter.com/scotgregor/statu...656597121773568 What did it say? I can't access Twitter right now?
  7. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 11:42 AM) I would agree that you're boring and not funny. I've been around for a while now. You've got nothing for me. I wasn't trying to be funny. I was simply asking for your opinion.
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 11:39 AM) LeBron, Durant, Leonard. Those are automatic. Then you've got Greek Freak and Paul George, Nobody outside of the biggest Bulls homer would take Butler over greek freak. only Butler/george is an argument. So what are you saying? Keep Butler and be content with 7th seeds? LeBron won't be around forever. Would you agree that Cristiano Felicio has the potential to be a generational talent?
  9. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 11:05 AM) I'm with you. I wish we had a young bat like Schwarber. No one is questioning his offensive ability. He's just a prototypical DH that's forced to play the outfield and is terrible at it.
  10. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 10:18 AM) Hopeful draft pick spots: 2017: #11 obviously 2018: Top 3 (if everything goes right, #1) 2019: Top 6 or 7? 2020: 10-15 range, inching closer Obviously if we end up becoming good enough for contention sooner, than even better. But yeah, I'm expecting at least 3 bad/mediocre seasons. Guys gotta get through some growing pains. Not everyone will just come up and click right away. Agreed dad. My predictions would be similar to yours.
  11. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 09:06 AM) Sale was ranked as the 30th best player in baseball, with Lester and Arrieta having better rankings than him. Lol Maybe Lester can be justified ahead of Sale, but Arrieta's ranking is a f***ing travesty. No way in hell he should be that high.
  12. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Feb 16, 2017 -> 07:59 PM) I think he'll be good enough for LF. No he won't. He's worse than Avi out there and that's saying something.
  13. So stoked for this guy. I think the Sox got him for an absolute steal and it would be great if he had a season similar to last year. My predictions - 9-4, 2.98 ERA, 134.2 IP, 40 BB's, 145 K's, 1.17 WHIP, and 9.7 K/9 in 20 starts, most of which at Kannapolis but hopefully he gets promoted to Winston-Salem at some point too.
  14. Anyone else think Cristiano Felicio has the potential to be a generational talent?
  15. QUOTE (Soha @ Feb 16, 2017 -> 11:33 AM) In the same line he said he has nothing to prove but he wants to prove it to Sox fans. LOL! It's a f***ing insult to Sox fans, that's what that is.
  16. Shields is a joke. He doesn't have anything to prove? He's fine with that 7.00 ERA? Good god.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 16, 2017 -> 11:06 AM) Scot Gregor ‏@scotgregor 45m45 minutes ago James Shilelds: I have nothing to prove. I think my career speaks for itself. I definitely want to prove to #WhiteSox fans who I really am LMAO. What a bum.
  18. I've been a somewhat big fan of the NBA since the 04-05 season...and this is by far the least interested I've ever been. Golden State and Cleveland in the Finals...again. Mark it down. It just isn't exciting anymore.
  19. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 16, 2017 -> 07:38 AM) Dude DID YOU JUST INCLUDE THE F*CKING BUCKS ON A LIST WITHOUT UPSIDE? Also, the Nuggets are on the rise. Jesus, Jokic is a f***ing monster. The Kings have a superstar so that helps them. Pistons suck. Hornets are basically the Bulls, so they are no good. BUT JESUS MAN THE BUCKS ARE REALLY RISING. If not for Jabari's knee exploding again, they'd have been the team with the biggest upside imo over the next 5 years. The Nuggets are also just a complete joy as already stated. So, Dick Allen, here's your goals for today. 1) get a clue 2) then talk NBA Thanks! Why are you so hostile this morning? Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed?
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 15, 2017 -> 04:38 PM) It would be awesome if they wore those jerseys when Boston was in town. They are. It's the ultimate troll job.
  21. Rick Hahn dabbing could also be an option.
  22. I vote for a 6-way banner with Rodon, Anderson, Moncada, Giolito, Kopech, and Collins.
  23. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Feb 15, 2017 -> 07:16 AM) I think there is a 0% chance that Moncada, Giolito, Lopez, Fulmer, or Burdi start with the White Sox. They need development time, but more importantly the White Sox need the extra year of control which will happen in late May. Agreed. There is absolutely no reason for any of them to break camp with the big league team and I will be furious if it happens.
  24. Kopech at #5 is a bit surprising. I also think Fulmer is too high and Hansen is too low.
  25. For those not at all interested in the Sox right now, what exactly was interesting about the same 78 win team year in and year out that the Sox have had the past few years?
