Robertson to WASH was close, now at stalemate
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 11:41 AM) There is no doubt that you are a teenager lol. I hope that term goes away soon Lol. It's just the most recent of a long list of words that really have no meaning whatsoever.

2016-2017 NBA Thread
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 11:31 AM) Well that would never happen, but cool post anyway. Did I say it would happen? Can you tell me what Rick Hahn is having for dinner next Thursday if you can tell the future?

2018 MLB Draft
QUOTE (DirtySox @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 10:14 AM) Would Beer go 1.1 in the 2017 draft? http://www.baseballamerica.com/draft/ask-b...semsrz5p10dK.97 Pretty much notes Beers value lies entirely in his bat, and historically bat only players don't go 1.1 I don't care if he's worse than Avi in the field. The Sox have to take him if he's on the board when it's their turn to pick. His bat is special.

Robertson to WASH was close, now at stalemate
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 10:15 AM) They won't trade Soto for Robertson. They would if they really wanted to win in the window in which they have Harper. Soto is 18 years old...

2016-2017 NBA Thread
It would be great if the Pelicans took out the Warriors in the 1st round.

Robertson to WASH was close, now at stalemate
QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 09:43 AM) @jaysonst White Sox have been looking for a catcher. Derek Norris or Pedro Severino could be potential fits. https://twitter.com/jaysonst/status/834065821940981760 Derek Norris? I don't see how he fits what the Sox are doing at all. Is he a good pitch framer?

Robertson to WASH was close, now at stalemate
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 09:35 AM) Who says no? WAS receives: David Robertson CWS receives: Pedro Severino, plus one of Jose Marmolejos-Diaz or Rafael Bautista I've never heard of Diaz or Bautista, so I hope the Sox would say no unless I just need to educate myself on the Nationals system.

Robertson to WASH was close, now at stalemate
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 09:24 AM) Agreed, he's likely expendable. But like I said above, I'm not sure he was the hangup in a deal. Probably not, but he's a logical piece for the Sox. I don't know how much better he is than Narvaez, but another body isn't a bad thing. He's supposed to be good defensively at the very least.

Robertson to WASH was close, now at stalemate
I'd be almost certain now that Severino would be involved in a Robertson package if a trade did happen.

White Sox News FA / Rumors / News
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 07:11 AM) They signed Geovany Soto. He's better than AJ. Let's be real here, both aren't exactly what they used to be. Lol.

2018 MLB Draft
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Feb 19, 2017 -> 02:24 PM) I'd love to have him but it's hard to accomplish. They can't just start dumping guys just to get Seth Beer Trading Q before the season starts would be a big boost for a potential #BeerRun.

2018 MLB Draft
Beer is so good. The Sox need to do whatever possible to get him.

QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Feb 18, 2017 -> 01:20 AM) Miley, you're the son I always wanted but never had. Hey. Been meaning to ask you, did you draw your avatar? That's really good dude. Much better than the stick figures I'm capable of drawing. Aw. But no, my sister drew it for me for my birthday. I have no artistic ability whatsoever but she's really good. She was only 13 when she drew it too, she's even better now. Thanks for the nice comment.

2017 recruiting and HS sports thread
QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 03:31 PM) Micah Jones commits to Notre Dame. He goes to my alma mater, I've seen him pay and he's a 4 star recruit. I hate saying this about high school kids, but he is awful. He's afraid of contact, a coach told me that, and won't fight for balls. When I heard he was a 4 star recruit, I was dumbfounded. He's big and could get good, but I just don't see the work ethic from him. I know him. He's a nice enough guy, so I'm happy for him. He's absolutely massive in person.

Sox taking it slow with Rodon during ST
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 01:20 PM) 1. Shields 2. Gonzalez 3. Holland 4. Free agent signing. 5. Covey SOMEONE has to be decent enough to flip in the 1-4 slots, right? RIGHT!? If that rotation pitched a full season, I'd bet that would be the worst team in MLB history.
-
Sox taking it slow with Rodon during ST
On the bright side, no Rodon means the odds of getting Beer just went up a lot more, but I love Carlos and hope he's fully healthy.

Sox taking it slow with Rodon during ST
Imagine if Q is traded and Rodon is hurt. We could be looking at a Shields/Gonzalez/Holland/Covey/TBA rotation. Holy f***.

QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 12:32 PM) Lol, I thought you had recently mentioned your age in another thread. That's why I kinda giggled when I read Mike's post. I knew it was a typo but just couldn't help myself. Mike's a good dude so I had to have a little fun with him. I love you too man.

"How the White Sox win the World Series"
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 01:05 PM) It is much more reasonable to think it will take guys a full season or two to really get comfortable as major leaguers, once they get here. Agreed. Obviously 2017 is a lost year, but I don't think 2018 will be that much better. I've said 64-98 in 2017, so maybe 71-91 in 2018. By 2019, I hope they hover around .500, and by 2020, they'll be a playoff team if things go like they should.

Sox taking it slow with Rodon during ST
QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 01:02 PM) Gregor saying rodon is not throwing during PFP. I did see another beat writer say Rodon did throw some today but haven't seen confirmation or video That's...not good.

"How the White Sox win the World Series"
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 12:27 PM) I really think you guys aren't giving the roster enough credit in your predictions. It's not like all of our big prospects are many years away. The majority of them will be up as soon as 2017/2018, and we know that Hahn will make more moves in that span. I think we could be a fringe playoff team in 2018, and a contender as early as 2019. While I see what you're saying, your scenario is under the assumption that the key young guys (Moncada, Giolito, Lopez, etc) will establish themselves right away as productive big leaguers. That probably won't be the case. There might be a learning curve for these guys and it will probably take time for them to reach their ceilings if they reach them at all.
