  1. QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Mar 12, 2016 -> 03:21 PM) I know it's only ST, but Johnson looks more and more like a AAAA pitcher. Add Daniel Webb to this list as well.
  2. Johnson blows. The Sox need more pitching depth.
  3. I wonder if Hawk, Stone, and Benetti will ever be in the booth at the same time towards the end of the season if the Sox are in contention.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 12, 2016 -> 02:26 PM) Cause he is, and I'm pretty sure the organization agrees Lol, true. I've never seen much to like from him honestly.
  5. I'm very excited to hear Benetti for the first time. I'll be rooting for him to do well and hopefully call Sox games for a long time.
  6. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Mar 11, 2016 -> 06:03 PM) Pirates sign Freese. $3 million guaranteed. Nice deal for Pittsburgh IMO.
  7. QUOTE (Tony @ Mar 11, 2016 -> 04:32 PM) According to Merkin, Rodon was working on some things and didn't throw a slider the entire game. Rodon said the last game where he didn't throw a single slider was in the middle school. If he threw as good as he did without using his best pitch at all, then he's going to be flat out dominant when he works that pitch back into his arsenal. I'm so pumped to see him this season.
  8. I'm pumped. THE SOUTH SIDE HITMEN ARE BACK!!!
  9. The Rodominator is going to have a breakout season this year.
  10. Avi hit a homer. He's raking this spring. Love it.
  11. My realistic guess is 86-76, which will be good enough for the 2nd Wild Card spot. They'll beat Texas in that game and lose to Houston in the ALDS.
  12. Lawrie has that "swag" in his playing style that I think the Sox needed. I'm expecting a big season from him.
  13. QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Mar 9, 2016 -> 10:12 PM) That's a steal of a trade. Of course, I'm not big on Longoria, and Jones has really soured last year, but still, Adam Jones immediately becomes your #1 OF. And while not elite, he is good enough to be a legit OF2 on a championship fantasy squad, borderline OF1. Not only that, but you get Longoria who is a fair starting 3b in fantasy league to go a long with Seagar. All you gave up really was Ramos. Vogt is essentially useless to you (see: posey), and your RP is already a massive strenght. A+ on the trade. Thanks man! Yeah, that was my reasoning behind the trade as well. Vogt was going to get very little playing time anyway since I have Posey, and Ramos was expendable since I already have 4 other relievers. I definitely do have a logjam of outfielders (Jones, Kemp, Pence, Piscotty, Yelich, Granderson, Calhoun, Winker, etc), so I'm hoping that at least 1 or 2 of them start out hot so I can sell high on them. I'm actively trying to move a few of them now, but it makes no sense to trade them for garbage just for the sake of moving them. I guess I'll wait it out.
  14. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 9, 2016 -> 09:26 PM) 105-78 Cool beans, didn't know MLB added 21 extra games this year.
  15. QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Mar 9, 2016 -> 03:48 PM) I agree that you lost the trade short term, but with your insane pitching staff, you should be ok in the short and you grow in the long term. Your OF continues to remain a bunch of above average misfits, but Granderson's power could be solid for your lineup. Any luck on the front of 2-for-1 deals for a more elite OF option? Thanks for the comment! I did make another trade today. I gave up A.J. Ramos and Stephen Vogt for Adam Jones and Evan Longoria. I thought I made out well on the deal. If nothing else, Jones is a legit outfielder that can one of my better players on offense.
  16. 130-32, with all 32 losses coming from games that Danks started.
  17. QUOTE (gosoxgo2005 @ Mar 9, 2016 -> 08:29 AM) Maybe because he had an OBP of like 4 billion last year? If the Sox landed Votto and put him in the 2 hole it would be the best middle of the order in all of baseball. Jays included. Who cares how old he is. Even if his OBP dipped 50 points it's still over .400. I'll take that every day of the week and twice on Sunday, regardless of how much he's owed or how old he is If you want to pay him $25 million a season when he's 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, and 39 years old, then go right ahead. I just think that's a terrible idea that would restrict future payroll flexibility greatly.
  18. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Mar 9, 2016 -> 07:32 AM) I'll eat the whole plate of s*** if we get Votto. Why would we want Votto? His contract is horrific and he's on the wrong side of 30.
  19. Bruce Irvin is reportedly signing with the Raiders. That's...surprising.
  20. QUOTE (ptatc @ Mar 8, 2016 -> 04:38 PM) Three starts each is nowhere near enough work prior to beginning the season. They are currently doing "B" games and the dreaded simulated games on the side to get work in. The fewer games means less stressful innings on the arms. That's what I mean. Three starts + the simulated games and side sessions.
