  1. I like Dunts format, so I will copy his style. The ideal roster for me right now would be: Lineup: Eaton RF Rollins SS Abreu 1B Frazier 3B Melky LF Lawrie 2B Navarro C Garcia DH Jackson CF Bench: Saladino Avila Shuck Ishikawa Rotation: Sale SP Quintana SP Rodon SP Latos SP Danks SP Bullpen: Robertson CL Jones SU Duke SU Putnam RP Albers RP Jennings RP Carroll RP
  2. On the TV broadcast yesterday, Stone mentioned something along the lines that the starting pitchers would only go a few innings each for their last Spring Training appearance before the regular season starts. With that being said, how many innings do you think Sale will go today? 3? 4?
  3. If they plan on taking another pitcher, I hope to god that it is not Turner.
  4. That is all. But seriously, I really do like Hawk. His schtick can get excessive at times, but I’ve grown to appreciate him even more after hearing Benetti the past few weeks. I will be very sad when he retires. and yes, I know this thread isn’t necessary but I’m bored as hell at school so bare with me.
  5. I hope that Gasol doesn’t come back. He’s a solid player, but the Bulls need to get younger and build for the future.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 28, 2016 -> 05:04 PM) 37, but we all know Collins will be #38. Eddie Collins is getting reincarnated to play for the Sox?
  7. Imagine Sale, Latos, Lawrie, and Swisher all in the same locker room. Eek.
  8. You just realized this now?
  9. I wonder what the pitching matchups are going to be in the Oakland series. If I had to guess, I'd say: Sale vs. Gray Quintana vs. Hill Rodon vs. Hahn Latos vs. Graveman No one on their side is that intimidating other than Gray, so I wouldn't be surprised if the Sox win 3/4 or even sweep. I'm hopeful.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 27, 2016 -> 03:56 PM) Carroll starting games in April would be a huge fail by the org Why? If he's better than Danks/EJ/Latos/Turner at any point in April, he should start.
  11. If Latos struggles, I could see Carroll making the team as the spot starter/mop up guy.
  12. Will Robin Ventura be the manager of the White Sox on September 1st? Yes How many wins will the Sox have when they return from Detroit on June 5th? 58 games scheduled through that date (33 on the road). 33 More games started - Navarro or Avila? Navarro Carson Fulmer debut date and role? July 12th, as a starter Tim Anderson debut date? August 28th White Sox All-Stars? Sale, Rodon, Abreu, and Frazier Mat Latos starts? 25 Number of team home runs (136 last year) 165 Runs Scored/Runs Against (622/701 last year) 718/689 Dealers choice--any other random 2016 Sox predictions other than final record Sale wins AL Cy Young, Rodon throws a no-hitter, Sox acquire CarGo at deadline, Danks wins 13 games with an ERA under 4, and Lawrie hits 25 homers.
  13. I just turned on the game, but it seems like Rodon is going through that "dead arm" period.
  14. Turner blows. Carroll is much more deserving of a roster spot than him.
  15. Lineup (vs. RHP): 1. Adam Eaton (RF) (L) 2. Jimmy Rollins (SS) (S) 3. Jose Abreu (1B) ® 4. Todd Frazier (3B) ® 5. Melky Cabrera (LF) (S) 6. Brett Lawrie (2B) ® 7. Dioner Navarro © (S) 8. Avisail Garcia (DH) ® 9. Austin Jackson (CF) ® Bench: 1. Alex Avila © (L) 2. Tyler Saladino (2B/SS/3B) ® 3. Travis Ishikawa (1B/LF/RF) (L) 4. J.B. Shuck (OF) (L) Starting Rotation: 1. Chris Sale (L) 2. Jose Quintana (L) 3. Carlos Rodon (L) 4. Matt Latos ® 5. John Danks (L) Bullpen: 1. Jacob Turner ® (LRP) 2. Zach Duke (L) (MRP/SU) 3. Matt Albers ® (MRP/SU) 4. Jake Petricka ® (MRP/SU) 5. Nate Jones ® (MRP/SU) 6. Zach Putnam ® (MRP/SU) 7. David Robertson ® (CL)
  16. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Mar 24, 2016 -> 03:29 PM) I remember that. He shouldn't have been out there. It was like 8th inning, he loaded the bases, was over 120 pitches I believe. I was so angry at that game that I specifically remember throwing the TV remote across the room lol. I don't remember if that game was in '13 or '14, but the bullpen options must've been terrible if Robin kept Sale out there at that point to face the best hitter in the game.
  17. It seems like Sale is pitching to contact a lot more this spring.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 24, 2016 -> 11:54 AM) I thought over the winter the Sox made sense as a match for Floyd, but the numbers don't work right now. Why not? EJ has no future here and Danks, Turner, and Latos are lottery tickets. I wouldn't mind bringing back Floyd just for depth.
  19. The Bulls fuggin suck. That is all.
  20. QUOTE (WBWSF @ Mar 22, 2016 -> 08:33 PM) I don't know who will be on the Opening Day roster but I hope the White Sox don't ask Drake LaRoche to throw out the first pitch. Fixed.
  21. Felipe Paulino? That Felipe Paulino?
  22. I just finished up a draft on ESPN for another dynasty league that I joined this year. This league will allow 7 keepers at the end of the 2016 season. I happened to get the first pick, and I chose Mike Trout. After the draft concluded, a guy in the league offered me Chris Sale and Julio Urias for Trout. According to this leagues scoring, Trout is projected to earn 533 points and Sale is projected to earn 628 points for this upcoming season. Urias isn't expected to pitch at all. So with that being said, do you guys think I should accept that offer? I already have Kluber, King Felix, Cueto, Stroman, Richards, Severino, Nola, etc, and adding Sale would give me the best pitching in the league by far. If you guys wouldn't mind sharing your thoughts, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
  23. Jacob May reminds me of Ben Revere.
  24. The Sox look good so far.
