Chris Sale did not finish in the top-3 for AL Cy Young voting
QUOTE (shysocks @ Nov 11, 2015 -> 08:45 AM) It's not all just bad defense that raised Sale's ERA. The other major difference between FIP (fWAR) and RA (bWAR) is the FIP is unconcerned with the order in which things happen. Sale was absolutely dominant for long stretches, but he also made his own bed with that ERA by allowing a lot of big innings. Putting all the blame on the guys behind him, especially for a pitcher with such a high strikeout rate, distracts from problems that Chris actually did have this year. He still should have been ahead of Gray, but ultimately who cares if he finishes third or fourth. If you ain't first, you're last. If he turns those 4-5 run inning implosions to 1-2 runs instead, his ERA will improve. I'm not worried about him.

ESPN’s Chris Berman at center of sexual harassment lawsuit
QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Nov 10, 2015 -> 08:14 PM) So he sucks with women just as much as he does doing his job. ZING!!!

My/Your Off Season Plan
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Nov 10, 2015 -> 08:21 PM) Can't hurt but he can't stick with anyone. He's floating from AAA team to AAA team. He probably wouldn't even make the team but it can't hurt for the Sox to give him a "tryout". He's a lefty bat with some pop. I'd take a chance on him. If it doesn't work out, fine. If it does, great. It's a low risk, high reward move.

My/Your Off Season Plan
Would anyone be opposed to giving Brennan Boesch an invite to Spring Training? He's been irrelevant for the past few years, but he had a couple of nice seasons with the Tigers. I think it'd be worth the chance to give him a shot to make the team as a 4th or 5th outfielder.

My/Your Off Season Plan
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Nov 10, 2015 -> 08:04 PM) That's fine. He's still older and and I'd rather spend that money on something else. I can't argue with that. The Sox won't be pursuing Hill anyways so this is kind of a moot point.

My/Your Off Season Plan
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Nov 10, 2015 -> 07:55 PM) I'd rather have Danks for just one more year at his salary than Hill for 2 years and his 4 good starts this last September. I think Hill has changed. As another guy said above, his mechanics now are completely different than what they were when he was with the Cubs. I'm not saying that he'll put up amazing numbers next year like he did in his last 4 starts in 2015, but I'd bet a significant amount of money that he'll put up better numbers than Danks next year.

My/Your Off Season Plan
QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Nov 10, 2015 -> 07:37 PM) Just exchange Danks for Hill. Rich Hill blows and throwing 2 years and $16M at him would but insane. I'd prefer Danks. Both are mediocre, but I'd much prefer Hill at $8 million a year than Danks and his $15+ million yearly salary.

Chris Sale did not finish in the top-3 for AL Cy Young voting
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Nov 10, 2015 -> 07:36 PM) Thanks Minnesota! Assholes. Sale needs to pitch better against them They singlehandedly cost him the Cy Young this year. It f***ing sucks.

He's going to win it next year anyway, so no worries. His ERA definitely wasn't indicative of how good he was last year.

ESPN’s Chris Berman at center of sexual harassment lawsuit
He always seemed like a pedobear to me.

My/Your Off Season Plan
I'd rather have Inciarte than Peralta if it means anything.

White Sox hire Rick Renteria and Greg Sparks
Hopefully he can become the full time manager when Robin gets canned at the All Star Break next year.

My/Your Off Season Plan
I bet the Cardinals could use Q now that Lynn is on the shelf for all of 2016. The package would have to start with Stephen Piscotty IMO. He's going to be a star.

RIP Charlie Donovan
RIP. It's so tragic that someone so young can lose their lives in an instant. I wish his family the best.

Former Sox pitcher Tommy Hanson passes away at 29
RIP. I have heard people say that the catastrophic organ failure was the result of a cocaine overdose, but I have no idea if that's accurate or not.

Sox to go trade route possibly
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 08:29 PM) Avi wouldn't work since they already have Stanton and Yelich in the corners. I thought Yelich was a centerfielder? I could be wrong.

Sox to go trade route possibly
I'd really like Marcell Ozuna. I have no idea if he's available or not, but I'd trade Avi and someone else for him.

Sox to go trade route possibly
QUOTE (lord chas @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 08:05 PM) The catching position needs to be upgraded by any means necessary As pathetic as it sounds, I think the catcher position is pretty far down on the list in regards to pursuing an upgrade. Flowers and Soto aren't great, but their numbers combined aren't too bad.

Sox to go trade route possibly
QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 06:18 PM) damn, i the sox can get a good pkg including just prospects, i will trade Q to the Cards, just to make sure they screw the sCrubs up in the playoff. I'd already prefer that than trading him to the Cubs. I really like Stephen Piscotty and Carlos Martinez. All I know is that it would suck so much to see the Sox trade Q to the North Side just to see him take the Cubs to the next level. It'd be such a slap in the face.

Sox to go trade route possibly
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 05:44 PM) You know that this isn't a real offer right? No one is out of their mind and that deal would never be offered for Quintana in the first place. It's just stupid to even be thinking about it since Quintana will not be traded to the Cubs. I'm 100% sure of it.

Sox to go trade route possibly
QUOTE (GreenSox @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 05:48 PM) If you listen to Cubs fans they only want to trade their junk: Castro, Soler, etc. (Soler and Castro aggregated to a .9 WAR last year). But even if Theo is willing to make an honest trade, I just don't see a matchup. Who do they have that we want? Any ML ready C or 3B? I know they have some guys in low minors, but I just don't see the fit. Now, I can see fits with Boston, the number 1 player-hype machine in MLB (Cubs still #2). But not Cubs. I definitely wouldn't mind seeing Baez being traded here. He has some pop and his defense seems decent for the most part as well. I wonder what the Cubs would do if the Sox offered Erik Johnson and a fringe prospect like Tyler Danish for him.

QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 05:29 PM) this is from Theo pov of what is a fair trade. btw, i am being snarky that is why the green .... Hanneman is the 30th prospect of the northsider and is 25 i think. Oh I know, I wasn't insulting you or anything like that. It's just that Epstein is out of his freaking mind if he thinks the Sox would accept a deal anything remotely close to that.
