  1. Some of y'all find a reason to b**** about absolutely everything lol.
  2. I just happened to come upon his Instagram profile, and his last post made about 10 minutes ago said: "Nothing like playing for your hometown team. So blessed for this opportunity." #dreamcometrue The picture along with this post is a picture of the Marlins stadium. So, can I assume that he's not in the Sox organization any longer? Can someone verify this? I always liked him, and I thought he should've been given more of a chance to succeed at the big league level.
  3. It ultimately comes down to whether or not everyone thinks if Avila is an upgrade over Soto. I think that he is, so I like this move.
  4. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Nov 25, 2015 -> 10:46 AM) Don't think he was used properly as a closer but he has potential to be an ok reliever. He had a 2 something ERA until August when he had 3 terrible outings. He obviously has a little talent. Hopefully Coop can work with him and take him to the next level.
  5. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Nov 25, 2015 -> 10:40 AM) Platooning with flowers Gotcha. I think this could actually be a solid platoon. It seems like Flowers is much better at hitting left handed pitching.
  6. Will he be the starter or the backup? Flowers will catch Sale no matter what, but I wonder what Avila's role will be. For less than $3 million, I like this signing.
  7. QUOTE (bulokis @ Nov 24, 2015 -> 08:43 PM) He can be Sale's personal catcher but we cant have him as our starter again That's exactly how I feel as well.
  8. Kahnle is essentially Jake Petricka on steroids. The Sox can never have enough power arms. If nothing else, he'll serve as a nice depth piece.
  9. Flowers has a roster spot secure as long as Sale is on the team.
  10. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Nov 24, 2015 -> 06:44 PM) Here is to hoping Flowers will be the backup now. Yep. I just don't know who the Sox could go after. Maybe Derek Norris, but I'm not exactly thrilled with him.
  11. f***. I liked him, especially as a backup.
  12. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Nov 24, 2015 -> 05:40 PM) Petricka is the guy I'd trade 100000000% agree. Petricka has never impressed me and I don't think he has a long future in baseball honestly. He doesn't have that "out" pitch that separates the mediocre relievers from the great ones.
  13. If he can can play rock solid defense and hit around .275 with 10 homers, I'd love to get him. He's younger and cheaper than Freese at the very least. He reminds me of Kang after watching that highlight video.
  14. Is this guy any good?
  15. I could see this guy being Putnam 2.0 if everything works out.
  16. I bet Coop saw something in his delivery that he thought he'd be able to fix, hence the acquisition.
  17. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Nov 23, 2015 -> 01:41 PM) Eaton is ahead of the curve then lol
  18. That whole rotation would be full of unknowns, especially starters 3-5.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 22, 2015 -> 01:18 PM) It doesn't work out one for one with Walker because of where each team is, but I could actually see the Pirates being willing to have some interest in Danks. They need to fill a rotation slot for 1 year because they're competitive right now and look down the road to having Glasnow and maybe Taillon taking spots in the next 2 years, they have some money available after retirements, and they could use a veteran left hander in their rotation alongside the guys they have. Plus, jumping leagues could help Danks have a better year too. Walker is a poor matchup in that deal because they'd want to use walker to get something useful, just been pondering that as a way to clear some money I'd trade Danks for Walker straight up in an instant, but I don't see the Pirates being interested in a deal like that.
  20. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Nov 23, 2015 -> 07:00 AM) Those deals suck. Something more fair in each case would be: LaRoche for Howard + cash (PHI eats the extra $12 million owed Howard) Q, Garcia, Montas and Jones for Puig, Seager, and Urias Change the trades to that, and do everything else except re-sign Soto, and I'd be good with it. There's no way that LA gives the Sox Seager AND Urias without Sale going the other way. I just don't see that happening.
  21. I almost puked after reading this. Quintana is way more valuable than that.
  22. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 21, 2015 -> 01:42 PM) Feels like a lot more. Agreed. I'm going to go shovel now, but I'm not looking forward to it. :/
  23. There's about a foot of snow in Gurnee right now. Ugh...
  24. Q, Adams, and Fulmer for Puig and Corey Seager? Would that be fair for both teams?
  25. QUOTE (scs787 @ Nov 20, 2015 -> 07:07 PM) Sort of off topic, but where do you guys think Eddy Alvarez starts? AA most likely.
