Rookies are gonna swing alot..... it's a fact of baseball life. Not to mention, the change in a breaking ball in the Majors is huge compared to what most guys throw in the Minors. Joe Crede will improve on his BB's/K's ratio this year. As YASNY said, cutting down on the big swing was priority one for the end last season. Pitch selection..... with a guy who hit 12 HR's in 200 AB's will be priority this season.

Hope Josh Stewart is the real deal. Guys.... Even if Wright misses the entire year (seemingly the worst-case-scenario at this point), and even if Stewart struggles, that does not mean that the season is over. In 2001, the Diamondbacks had pretty much RJ and CS, and 3 scrubs behind them, and they won the World Series. Now, MB and BC aren't as good as RJ and CS, but when you add Jon Garland, the Sox' top 3 are equal if not better than what Arizona had. Also, the Diamondbacks' offense was pretty good, but IMO the Sox in '03 will have a far superior offense than AZ had. So, basically, even if the worst happens, I still think we'll be contenders. you may be right but do we go out and fix the situation or stay pat. Give Stewart a chance. If JS flops, then you can test the trade market. If he is a pleasant surprise, he takes over DW's role. This injury to DW just puts a little added pressure on Garland and Loaiza.

If I'm not mistaking, the 6 managers ranked below JM are all making their managerial debuts in 2003. That's pretty bad. Jerry Manuel is an awful manager. I agree 100%..... but I don't think he belongs as low as CBS has ranked him. He needs to stop the damn tinkering. He also needs to stop relying on the bullpen as much as he does. Too many times he takes a pitcher out when he should keep him in..... IMHO..... and keeps a pitcher in when he should take him out..... again, IMHO. Not to mention, he needs a bit more fire and needs to stand up for his guys more often than he does.

Not so much Tipper, she and her Republican friends like Rev. Jeff Ling are the PMRC music Nazis. Joe is a member of the Parents' TV Council but it is headed up by an extreme right wing uber-Christian Republican L. Brent Bozell III (this guy's dad worked in the Goldwater campaign and thought that nuking the Russians was a great idea...How Christian of this guy!) Lieberman is just a token member. And calling Lieberman a Democrat is almost laughable. Sure he's got the party name but this guy is so far to the right. L. Brent Bozell III is also noted for calling pro wrestler, the Rock a white supremacist...only problem is that Rock is 1/2 black i thought the rock was half white/ half hispanic...his last name is malavia or something like that Actually, Duane Johnson aka The Rock, is half black (father) and half Samoan (mother).
