  1. The reason why it's great to be an American..... freedom of choice. If you don't want it or you don't like it, don't buy it. Unfortunately, there will always be those that will try to take freedom of choice away for whatever warped reason they have. Look at cartoons nowadays..... with the few exceptions of cartoons geared towards adults (Beavis and Butthead, South Park, The Simpsons..... just to name a few)..... Saturday mornings blow! No more Bugs Bunny or Tom and Jerry..... too violent the minority in this country says but the fact that a minority have a problem with them, kids are now subjected to liberal, let's-all-love-each-other, un-funny, and boring Saturday Morning garbage. No wonder why you see all these little monsters on Jenny Jones, Maury, and Ricky Lake
  2. No..... alot of the time, they're just disgruntled because they weren't good enough to play the game themselves
  3. The Royals are red hot. I have a feeling they are gonna give us one or two spankings. I don't feel that way at all Bmr..... but, that is why the games are played on the field. Go Sox!
  4. One of the reasons why I rarely, if ever, waste money on that "ad rag" SI. It's gonna be really sweet if the White Sox do what we all think they can do this season and shut all these "experts" up.
  5. K Wunsch is the teams delegate..... so anytime the team does anything that resembles a "boycott," K Wunsch is going to be the mouthpiece and, whether it's right or wrong, he'll be the one that the media labels as the "organizer"..... so to speak.
  6. I'm with you there 100% mooch..... but Moore's backers here pointed out to me that he is perfectly within his rights to profit on the corpses of 13 dead HS teenagers. America..... you gotta love it..... even though the one's that pointed out to me that Moore was within his rights to profit on the Columbine Tragedy trash America more than they defend it.
  7. It is true Steff..... those that fail or refuse to see the link between the two are naive..... to put it lightly. Bin Laden warned of such a "partnership" before the US went to War with Iraq. Once the US Military moves into Baghdad..... as they say..... the truth will set us (you) free. It is at that time the US and Britain will have the proof that Iraq never intended to destroy their WoMD and the links to Al Queda will be made public. I'm almost certain that links to Al Queda will be found, for example, in Hussein's Republican Guard..... and that's just for starters. Saddam has allowed Al Queda members to use Iraqi hospitals for surgery and rehab and such. This much we know already to be true.
  8. Gonna make it that much sweeter when we take the AL Central away from an overachieving 2002 Twins team
  9. Good points as always witesoxfan..... but I never said the game-breaker we would need would, hypothetically, be a pitcher . Right now, this team has a hole, IMHO, at CF and 2B..... only because Rowand and Jimenez are unproven as starters. If they prove themselves, I will be glad to retract my last statement. But, if both are just barely getting by, and this team has two potential 20-game winners and a potential 15-17 game winner, then I would hope the needs at 2B and CF would be addressed before the pitching..... in fact, if given the choice between the two, I'd rather have to go out and get some offense than pitching. And, with Buehrle and Colon as our 1-2 punch for '03, come the trade deadline we better not do anything half-assed like this team has done in the past..... again, IMHO. If hypothetically, Erstad is available and we pick-up a Corey Patterson to fill the hole at CF, it would be pretty much par-for-the-course for the White Sox Organization. Hell..... even the sCrUBS went out and got a potential game-breaker in Fred McWhiff for the 2001 sCrUB drive to the pennant that never materialized after Chip Carey announced that the NL Central was locked up in late July when McWhiff accepted the trade from Tampa to Chicago
  10. are in police custody in NYC after being confronted by a construction crew in a secure area of the George Washington Bridge. Prelim reports have the NYPD looking for a "suspicious package." The three were originally confronted because the clothes they were wearing were "not consistent" with being a member of the construction crew, no record that they are employed by the construction crew, and the fact that they were climbing on one of the bridge trusses. More to follow I'm sure.
  11. If Kravitz's anti-war song is anything like the Beasty Boys' piece of garbage, then stick a fork in it
  12. Thanks for avoiding the point... again.
  13. Germany. His mother was killed in a concentration camp as a matter of fact. His late wife was Sharon Tate who - along with his unborn child - was murdered by the Manson clan. Germany? Really? With a name like Polanski I would have thought he was from Poland Perhaps his father was polish..? Regardless, I'm sure if he was to return to the States there would be a shark that would use the "Wife Murdered by Manson Disciples" as a defense to rape. :fyou Lawyers Not possible. He pleaded guilty and was already convicted. Doesn't matter though. he'll never come back. Now that..... I did not know. Learn something new everyday
  14. Everybody makes mistakes. This isn't WSI you know
  15. Why would they start Stewart on Sunday? Wouldn't that be Buehrle's scheduled day? Or maybe pitch MB on Saturday and then go with Colon on Sunday. Doesn't make much sense to me. Not sure what JM has planned but it has been announced that MB will start the Season Opener and BC will start on 04/07 against Cleveland at BC's request. I think the way it will look is..... MB on 03/31, BC on 04/02, JG on 04/03, Loaiza on 04/04 (Sox Home Opener), MB on 04/05, Stewart on 04/06, and BC on 04/07. JMO though.

  17. Are you talking about the listener-edit of MetallicA's "Don't Tread On Me" where the song plays while snippets of Howard from 09/11/01's morning show is played intermittently? If you are, I love that goddamn edit. Wish he would post it somewhere for download
  18. Gammons is an idiot. I'm surprised he didn't save that prediction for his beloved BoSox. That's all right though. Considering Gammons is never right, that leaves the door for most wins in the AL open for the White Sox at least
  19. How about the GM who traded 3 young arms for one Todd Ritchie?
  20. That's the only reason. If the Marlins would have gotten fair-market value for Clement and Alfonsixa, they might have ended up adding salary over dumping it. The sCrUBS got lucky in 2001 when they acquired McWhiff from the D-Rays..... in yet another salary dump..... this time by the Florida AL team. Why aren't the Braves dumping salary when the White Sox are a contender?
  21. Actually, I think Dusty Baker is John the Baptist..... Jesus Prior is the Messiah
  22. That's your opinion..... and you're entitled to it. But considering it could be first round and out 4 times over the last 20 years (20%), I'm sick and tired of having a good team for that particular year and being just good enough to make it to the playoffs and lose in the first round. This team, at least on paper, is better than the 2000 squad and, with 2 possible 20-game winners, a line-up with the offensive punch the White Sox have, and a deeper bullpen than the one we had in 2000, this White Sox team should be able to advance beyond the first round if they make it to the 2003 playoffs. And, like I've said before, the Organization's goal should be to make the WS every year..... not just the playoffs. We'll see how committed to winning the White Sox are this year when, if the Sox are in first place come the trade deadline, JR goes out and picks up a game-breaker for the expected playoff run and not just the usual stop-gap he has acquired over the years. Two Charles Johnson-type pick-ups would show a desire to win it all..... not one Tim Belcher (although, I would argue, that catching wasn't the position we need to shore up for the 2000 playoff run).
