White sox getting more media attention
All of MLB will benefit from the distraction of FIFA. Speaking only for myself as an American sports fan raised with baseballl, football, basketball and hockey, I thought that the soccer games were a joke. In particular, all the whining and wincing after faked injuries was just too much to take seriously. And how do they only score one goal in two hours of running around when the goal looks about as big as a two car garage door? Finally, the fans from these countries matched the overreactions on the field with unbridled emotion. Glad to be done with it, and no, I am not a fan of the Fire or U.S. soccer. The sport obviously has throngs of fans, but I am not one of them.

7/20/2026 - Sox @ Rangers, 7:05 CDT - Fedde v. DeGrom
I'm trying to be positive about the DeGrom vs Fedde match-up. Maybe the Ranger's veteran right handed pitcher will meet an early demise after facing our young, hellacious, LH line-up. DeGrom doesn't usually walk many batters so the Sox are probably going to string some hits together in order to knock him out early.

Yea, I agree, but "stay thirsty my friend." 🍺 Unfortunately, the White Sox rotation may not be capable of putting together multiple win streaks in order to separate the White Sox from the top teams in the Division. Case in point is the Red Sox right now which includes when they swept us. Need five strong starters including maybe two Ace pitchers. Even with almost unlimited financial resources and trade capital, that would be a tall task. Makes me appreciate the White Sox 2005 World Series championship even more.

7/18, Sox @ Blue Jays, 7:07 AM Uninhabited Baker Island Time
Murakami does not look like he is running at 100% and it appears that his timing might be a little off at the plate. Same with Teel. It could be a few more weeks before these players are at 100%. Teel has been Ked on outside pitches too often. It could be that he has been too aggressive/impatient and/or pull happy. No worries though, it will all come together soon.

Seranthony is a drag on the pitching staff and a sunken cost. Maybe his roster spot could be filled by Tanner McDougal or another guy from the Minors. I know JR, like any front office Chair, does not like the team paying millions to players who fail to perform, but oh well Jerry, Dominguez needs to go. Enough with Venable's attempt to slowly nurse him back on the fly. He lacks control, plain and simple. In John Schriffen's voice - "Get out!"

Blue Jays have a decent rotation, but a subpar bullpen that frustrated John Schneider. Perhaps the Sox can rough them up again.

Calling the black guy a dog is definitely not cool, but whatever... I have come to expect some of that from sports fans.

Kay's splits are not providing much hope against a very powerful line-up with 8/9 hitters batting Right handed. If he makes it unscathed through 3 innings, Venable may be able to play match-ups with the bullpen and keep the game competitive.

White Sox 2027 Schedule
Many Opening Days have been rough weather wise. I think this was April 8, 2016. I took this shot from the RF concourse. A retractable roof stadium, and the game gets played like it should be, in reasonable conditions for fans and players. But I have to say, when we have good Spring weather, tailgating and watching the Opener is one of life's great joys for a Sox fan. Photo AlbumOnline Photo Album

I have not been to the Rogers Centre but it looks fantastic on TV and Toronto fans rave about it. I would love to see a retractable roof stadium for the White Sox after so many years of bad weather conditions/cancellations It would be great to actually be able to buy tickets and plan ahead without being concerned about a game being postponed or having to sit in rainy, cold or steaming hot conditions. So glad the upcoming games are in Toronto instead of in the oppressive heat/possible rain in Chicago. Who wants to go outdoors in this weather and no, I would not go to the Sox game if they were playing in these conditions at home.

Munemania: He has power
Ishbia's private equity company has a contingent contract to purchase the rail yard in Pilsen on the East side of the canal. He is seeking a Federally backed loan to relocate that yard. Not sure whether the ISFA , owner of the Rate Field parking lots, is all in on a land swap with Amtrak, at least not that I am aware of. That would be a first step to relocating the rail yard to Bridgeport. That, and the Federally backed loan.

Trade Ideas/Rumors/Proposals Thread
I do not entirely ascribe to the idea that the White Sox are "playing with house money" this season, or in any season. So they have already exceeded expectations ...so what. Never rest on the promise of the future at the expense of the present, in sports, or in life. We have a special team right now - a solid group of players whose skill sets and personalities compliment one another. With a few breaks and some luck, they can win. Sorry for that...but with all the talk about prospects, come Friday, it will be time to focus on winning now.

Roch Cholowsky Video / Media
I agree...tough to get a read on him. He was emotional when he was selected, but, as a kid from Arizona, he might not be entirely down with playing in a city where the temperatures get pretty chilly and damp in the Spring and Fall. However, Spring training in Glendale will be nice and convenient for him. Hard to project him, but if he lives up to the hype, he could be competing for the starting SS position sometime next season. All of a sudden the Sox have almost too much infield talent - more than they can deploy within the 26 man roster restriction.

Seems to apply to the White Sox in various areas this year.

Meidroth is your second basemen for the foreseeable future. Gold glove defense and a good set-up man in the line-up.

I thought Noah's start was just OK, especially considering the opponent. Room for improvement but good enough to keep him in the rotation. Hicks was incredible though. 101 mph on the corners.

Kyle Teel has the same jersey number (no. 8) as my favorite White Sox player from yesteryear, Pete Ward. Maybe Kyle would considers REM's Driver 8 as a walk up.

Tristan Peters, Mune are All-Stars
I have not seen any evidence that there will be substantial "regression" in Peters offense. Sometimes Peters will hit a line drive or grounder for an out but more often than not he is seeing the ball and putting a good cut on it. Great eye / hand coordination - a skill that the best contact hitters share.

A lot of hitters cooled off as you say against good pitching...like BoSox. And over time, yes, Chase has been a clutch hitter...but you have to watch the games to get that. 11 posts ?
