Maddux to Sign with the Yankees!
Honestly, at this point I want the Yankees to go out and get Maddux, go out and trade for a top notch 2nd baseman, and whatever else they want just so everyone will finally realize major changes need to be made.

Here's hoping the SI cover jinx continues...
I don't know about you but I would be pretty damn happy to get out of Texas as well.

Anyone catch Mariotti's radio show today:

I'm pissed too. And I will likely be even more pissed when the Yankees go out and get a second baseman (just a guess but I have a feeling that they are going to go out and get a very good second baseman).- over on the scrub boards
Honestly, would you turn down the Yankees if they offered you more money than anyone else as well as probably the best opportunity to win a championship. As much as I hate the Yankees if I was put in the same situation I'm not sure I wouldn't make the same decision.- Maddux to Sign with the Yankees!
Like I said in my last post, anything is possible when it comes to the Yankees acquiring players. And I agree that they will have a big time second baseman by the start of the season.- Maddux to Sign with the Yankees!
Not a bad idea. But the whole thing is it wouldn't surprise me one bit to hear in a couple days that the Yankees are about to acquire Vidro. Nearly any rumor I hear regarding the Yankees I regard as an actual possibility.- Maddux to Sign with the Yankees!
Speaking of the Yankees, I just went over to check out their board and they really don't seem excited about the last couple days events. And they were having a discussion about bringing in Jose Vidro to play 2nd base. All I have to say is that if the Yankees were to acquire Vidro I would almost be in support of a lockout if it meant getting a salary cap.- Maddux to Sign with the Yankees!
Their rotation will probably look something like this 1. Mussina 2. Brown 3. Vasquez 4. Maddux 5. Contreras Anyone falters Lieber gets a shot and if Lieber falters they go buy another top of the line starter.- Maddux to Sign with the Yankees!
David Wells, Andy Pettite? Are you sure it didn't say this is the first time since 1992 they won't have a left handed starter?- Maddux to Sign with the Yankees!

Yeah, they beat Purdue 40-39.- NCAA hoops thread

Air Force lost to Texas Pan American 37-35 tonight. Top 30 material they are not.- Maddux to Sign with the Yankees!
He said earlier today that the Yankees weren't interested in Maddux but that was before all of these reports started coming out. I don't think it would surprise anyone if the Yankees signed Maddux. Whats another 8 million or so in payroll when your payroll is already near 200 mil.- Remaining free agents
I have an idea why don't the Yankees sign him. They sign every other good player so whats another 5-6 million in salary. :fyou- over on the scrub boards
Yeah, it would be a shame to only have two World Series appearances in three years.- STEVE SULLIVAN TRADED
I don't follow hockey real closely, but I thought I heard that this draft was supposed to have the next Gretzky, Lemieux, etc.. in it. Any chance the Blackhawks get this guy? I do watch playoff hockey and thats about it but it would be nice to see the Blackhawks in the playoffs.- Sox 8-1 to win ALCS
Don't get me wrong, I would be ecstatic if the Sox made it to the World Series. I just don't see a chance that it happens. You are right, it is a crapshoot once you are in the playoffs, but we would be seriously outgunned by the Red Sox, Angels, and Yankees. The Marlins had their X-factor Josh Beckett which I don't think we have. Anything can happen but we are more likely to not make the playoffs then win the ALCS IMO.- Sox 8-1 to win ALCS
Even so, I can't see this team winning back to back playoff series at this time. If someone steps up big time or we make additions during the season that is a different story. And actually, I thought the Marlins had a great shot at the Yankees last year in the playoffs. With the way they were playing and Josh Beckett was pitching they could have given anyone a series.- Peter Gammons says Yanks could go after Buehrle
Yeah, he was my favorite player at that time and I was pretty upset when he got traded seeing as how I was only 9 and didn't quite understand the economics of baseball yet.- Sox 8-1 to win ALCS
I'd bet on the Sox to win the Central division, but the ALCS, come on. Does anyone really see us beating the A's, Red Sox, Angels, or Yankees in a playoff series?- NCAA hoops thread
:fyou to the crybaby coach and the rapist. :puke- Peter Gammons says Yanks could go after Buehrle
No problem. I also forgot to mention that McDowell averaged over 7 innings a start for the Sox in 94 as well as in his previous three years as well, the guy was a gamer.- Peter Gammons says Yanks could go after Buehrle
He was 10-9 in 94 but still had an ERA of 3.73 coming off of consecutive 20 win seasons. McDowell was never a guy with a really low ERA so I can't imagine that was to great of a concern. He went on to win 15 games for the Yanks in '95. - over on the scrub boards
