If Reinsdorf opens up the checkbook for a player, I’d rather it not be Bellinger. Maybe Getz will be a little more efficient with Reinsdorf’s money compared to Hahn with Grandal, Keuchel, Bennintendi and everyone in between. Either way, there is zero chance Jer is considering any contract for that type of money right now, or ever.

I’ve been trying to find it too, but it wasn’t a direct statement about quitting like Yermin. It was an Instagram post showing frustration with a current situation while simultaneously removing all things White Sox from his account. I probably should have chosen my words more carefully bringing the story up in this thread, but he appeared to be insinuating he was “done” with the White Sox or baseball all together.

Chris Getz wetz the bed.

You are describing Blake Snell who the Yankees just offered a 150mil contract, and will eventually land close to 200mil. And acting like Cease can’t handle non-AL Central offenses is quite ignorant. If you’ve never really watched him pitch, just say it. But his stuff plays against any MLB offense.

Party’s over, everyone. Time to go home. Alone.

Soto was traded with 2.5 years and 1 year.

I am hoping all of this detailed information coming from the media the last few days means something is very close to happening.

Colas basically threatened to quit because he was still in the minors in 2022. He was then handed the starting RF job out of ST and he was beyond horrible. I honestly did not expect him to be as bad as he was, and his performance makes me question if he’s a major league player in any capacity. I would not doubt if 2023 was enough of a mixture of bad/immature behavior and abysmal performance for many in the organization to sour on him almost completely. I don’t disagree that he needs to work his way back into a starting major league role on this team. As much as I want to disagree with every front office decision they make right now. Whether it’s the White Sox fault he was so bad and immature in 2023 due to lack of player development is another story. Regardless, this is where we are at right now.

Yeah, I was joking/being sarcastic.

He’s trying.

Agreed and unfortunately I presented that information without an actual solution because of current ownership. But as I sit here right now, knowing what we know and experienced, I would enjoy White Sox baseball more getting to watch one of the best players in the league for the next four years and seeing Getz fail at “going for it” for all of those years. I know “going for it” has no chance, but it still sounds light years more enjoyable than what has transpired over the last four years. A complete train wreck trying execute a rebuild after trading all of our best players and acquiring some of the best young talent in baseball. The last two years exposed the ineptitude of current ownership more than any fan should ever have to experience. I wish I had better words, but basically if that is how Reinsdorf and co. will handle another rebuild, then just let me enjoy Robert, please. Getz can attempt best KW ‘05 every year and we can finish in 3rd place with a bunch white “grinders.” It’s all very sad. Lol?

If you are realistic about the state of the franchise and who the owner is, you also know we’ve been down this road before. Having the best trade commodities in MLB only brought us to this point right now.

You guys make the trade with those guys from Baltimore yet?

Isn’t that why they drafted him?

Unfortunately, DH is the only serious option to get Burger into the lineup on the reg. Hopefully Eloy’s kidney doesn’t fall out of his body in RF.

If Sheets isn’t hurt, Marisnick or Haseley will be sent back to Charlotte. No need for both players on the roster anyways.

This s%*# is honestly so stupid. There’s plenty to be upset about without manufacturing this embarrassing lip reading witch-hunt.

Sure, so sounds like you have enough to be mad at without making up things.

Why is this even a thing? Dude barely moved his mouth. Do people usually try to figure out everything a player mumbles to himself during a game?

I’ll allow it.

7.1 BB/9 in Charlotte. Something about him fitting right in..

Go Sox.

Is this actually 4 weeks minimum? 4-6 weeks caught me off guard. Hoping there’s some successful quicker recovery stories. This lineup is drastically weaker without Eloy in the middle. And Jake isn’t there to replace some of that power this time. This blows.

Right after the 3-run HR, first time I’ve voluntarily turned off the game this season. Can’t believe I made it that long. But now I’m here. Lord, help us all.

Guessing it is his 59 OPS+ for the year and .407 OPS over the last 14 days. I can’t imagine he is up for much longer.
