I was responding to the post saying the Giants would be lucky to get three years of surplus value. I did not say anything about the back end. There’s no question they will be eating money in the last few years, but there is crazy value in the front of that contract.

It’s 27mil per year. He will only be 28 next season, and he has been worth 27mil every season of his career so far. He’s been worth almost double that in some seasons.

TA did like two bat flips three years ago. Not sure why he’s always referenced in the discussion of excessive or disrespectful bat flipping. Even when he hit the Field of Dreams walk-off on his biggest stage, he didn’t bat flip. He just did that thing where he ran around the bases flapping his hands by his neck. Anyways, most people enjoy watching players who enjoy playing the game. Let’s also not forget the children. I don’t have much of a chance with my five year becoming a White Sox fan or even a baseball fan without players who are fun and exciting to watch. We all know we can’t just rely on winning over here.

I think it’s pretty much, you can try to suppress his service time and get the extra year but if that player is 1/2 in ROY, he’s getting that extra year regardless. So if you think the player has a chance to finish 1/2 ROY, you better call him up OD so you can at least get that draft pick since he’s getting the full year either way. Even if the player called up OD doesn’t get 1/2 ROY, you’re still rewarded an extra draft pick if he’s 3 ROY or top 5 MVP/Cy Young. Although in most cases, top 5 MVP/Cy Young would be 1/2 ROY anyways.

I am sure they will find an okay player no other team wants eventually.

Does anyone have any idea what Jake McCarthy would cost? Having a hard time gauging his value, as he was not a top prospect and doesn’t have too high of a ceiling. But he’s already had decent MLB success at 24, hits left handed, and obviously has plenty of cheap team control.

I would happily accept Gallo, at this point. Adding Gallo to the current roster improves the team, and I will take any of that we can get.

And what makes it worse is they never have a grasp on how the market will actually play out. So they sit there waiting to react to things that never happen.

Do we usually hear reports from national reporters blatantly stating we are shopping a player? Feels like this is the end of Liam’s time here.

Please give Moncada a chance this season with a coaching staff that actually works with their players, especially on a game to game basis. I am of the belief this is going to make a massive difference for a lot of the current players.

It sucks to have completely lost any last shred of hope that this organization will make the correct move in anything they do. Not hyperbole when I say this is the lowest point for me as a White Sox fan in 30+ years. There have been far worse teams/eras in terms of talent, but I’ve never felt this kind of hopelessness bordering on indifference.
