December 7, 20169 yr I was hoping for trading Q to Colorado for Murphy +. Murphy is quite the catching prospect.
December 7, 20169 yr QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 03:49 PM) Listen, I was dreaming about Robles. This sucks. But the white sox farm was equally bad for pitching as hitting. We need everything. Our pitchers are a lot better IMO
December 7, 20169 yr Still got Q to trade for bats as well. Clean up on arms with the Nats if you need to.
December 7, 20169 yr QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 03:48 PM) Ok so what's the infatuation with a light hitting catcher like Severino? It it just desperation for a C in general or am I missing something? scouts think he can possibly hit for a decent average, but say he was the best defensive catcher in the minors last season FWIW.
December 7, 20169 yr It would be hilarious if some other team swooped in now and got him. The Nationals deserve it. Well...mainly Rizzo but same difference.
December 7, 20169 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 03:48 PM) I saw Severino described as the best defensive catcher in the minors. That is worth capturing. Agreed but I rather have focus on shoreing up the middle of the field and Robles along with Moncada and Anderson does that. Servino is great as a add on but man to not get Robles stinks. I rather have him with either Lopez or Gioloto.
December 7, 20169 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 04:48 PM) I saw Severino described as the best defensive catcher in the minors. That is worth capturing. Going to be awfully hard to keep a bat in the lineup who can't maintain a .650 OPS...Not saying he's completely invaluable or he shouldn't be part of the package, but if we only get 3 players (without Robles or Turner) and Severino is 1 of them I'd consider it a pretty light deal.
December 7, 20169 yr QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 10:50 PM) Still got Q to trade for bats as well. Clean up on arms with the Nats if you need to. Yep to Astros for Tucker, Reed, etc
December 7, 20169 yr If Sox are getting pitching back in this you have to get position players for Quintana.
December 7, 20169 yr Any chance the Nats are now using the White Sox to drive down the price on Cutch? You have to be both a giver and receiver at times.
December 7, 20169 yr QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 03:09 PM) What amazes me is this rumor gets going about us parting with a gold glove OFer who swings a good bat and a Cy Young candidate in the same trade with a return of second level minor league players and some think it's acceptable or even true Hawk? Is that you?
December 7, 20169 yr Author QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 03:50 PM) Agreed but I rather have focus on shoreing up the middle of the field and Robles along with Moncada and Anderson does that. Servino is great as a add on but man to not get Robles stinks. I rather have him with either Lopez or Gioloto. Given the choice, I would much rather load on up on other top position players. But that being said, I have no problem with him being in the end of a deal.
December 7, 20169 yr QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 03:50 PM) It would be hilarious if some other team swooped in now and got him. The Nationals deserve it. Well...mainly Rizzo but same difference. watch the Cards swoop in and offer us Weaver + Bader/Perez + Carson Kelly!
December 7, 20169 yr Author QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 03:51 PM) Going to be awfully hard to keep a bat in the lineup who can't maintain a .650 OPS...Not saying he's completely invaluable or he shouldn't be part of the package, but if we only get 3 players (without Robles or Turner) and Severino is 1 of them I'd consider it a pretty light deal. Without Turner or Robles, we have to be talking about a quantity type of deal, otherwise I am going to be pretty pissy about the return.
December 7, 20169 yr everything.whitesox_ @everything_sox 2m2 minutes ago Fwiw I received a DM on IG AT around 2:45ish that said that the White Sox trade Eaton to the Nats for Giolito+
December 7, 20169 yr QUOTE (Sockin @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 03:51 PM) If Sox are getting pitching back in this you have to get position players for Quintana. Hope this is the case. And another thing about accumulated high end pitching is you can always trade it away for bats, cost controlled pitching is something that will always be in demand. I would love this and a quick Q follow up with Houston for Reed, Tucker, and more.
December 7, 20169 yr No Robles would be a bummer. Of course I'm about to be in an hour and a half work meeting.
December 7, 20169 yr QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 04:50 PM) It would be hilarious if some other team swooped in now and got him. The Nationals deserve it. Well...mainly Rizzo but same difference. LOL I didn't see you say this
December 7, 20169 yr QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 03:53 PM) Taylor, Avi, May, Engel, Coats....welcome to tanking. Were you expecting them to win in 2017?
December 7, 20169 yr Author QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 03:52 PM) everything.whitesox_ @everything_sox 2m2 minutes ago Fwiw I received a DM on IG AT around 2:45ish that said that the White Sox trade Eaton to the Nats for Giolito+ + had better not mean just one more player.
December 7, 20169 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 01:52 PM) Without Turner or Robles, we have to be talking about a quantity type of deal, otherwise I am going to be pretty pissy about the return. Even if it was Giolito/Lopez?
