Damn, this is a bummer. Two of his most memorable roles for me were Chet in Weird Science and Hudson in Aliens. s***, the wife and I just watched Aliens a few nights ago. Great actor and funny guy. RIP Bill.

Yeah. He seemed like a genuinely good person, or at least someone who tried to be and recognized his own shortcomings. His shows and his writing were as much social commentary as they were about food.

  • It's interesting as you get older and celebrities that impacted your life pass away, there's definitely more of a connection and shock. Impacted would have sounded funny to me years ago, and mayb

John Lennon once said, “If you tried to give rock and roll another name, you might call it 'Chuck Berry'". He was truly a legend.

Doesn't get enough credit for building a six time champ around MJ.

Don Rickles, 90. He was pretty hysterical.

That sucks. God rest his soul, as he would say.

He was on a roast last year and was still sharp as hell. Loved him on late night talk shows

Watched the tribute show to him on Spike TV in 2013. He was pretty frail then. Comedians just love the guy. Jimmy Kimmel couldn't stop sobbing the other night and Letterman and Seinfeld and Eddie Murphy, all those guys worshiped Rickles. Sad to see him go. Not many of the old icons are left.

J. Geils - 71.

"Centerfold" remains one of the quintessential 80s songs. My older sister had the 45, and my brother & two other sisters played it over and over as we created havoc in the basement that we spent so many hours in when we were growing up.

I know it's pushing the 'Celebrity" line but she David Letterman's mother Dorothy died at 95. She did appear on his show from time to time back in the day

I can still remember, back in the old days' when the video for that song was considered 'too risqué' for MTV.

Unbelievable. Today is Letterman's 70th birthday, and I was thinking the other day that it's cool his mom is still alive. What timing to read this news.

He is finally going to get a chance to even the score for Prince snubbing him at a concert over the Chapelle joke line.

Rick James, Prince, now Charlie Murphy.

He made the Chapelle Show one of the reasons it was so funny and refreshing.

Oh man just saw it, he made some of the funniest, most memorable skits ever on the Chappelle Show.
