I was going for the ugly AND empty "jab" (wasn't really intended to be that way). Like you said, at least ours isn't ugly.

I have attended 20 games or so there and I don't considerthe stadium ugly but the playing surface is. For the climate it is located in, it is very functional. Without a roof, days games would be impossible at times and rain delays would be very disruptive. Now I don't know why the roof wasn't retractable. I have been to Toronto and I like the overall layout of the Trop better but the retractable roof makes the one in Toronto's playing surface so much better.

Again, they trade their best player and still want to talk of a new stadium. It appears their new stadium if it ever gets off the ground will most likely have a fixed roof as well.

Living in the Northeast and Florida, it is a huge spectrum swing between the Trop and Fenway.

Dickerson acquired by Pirates per MLBN. Will try to find tweet, and update accordingly.

That means that all AL teams didn't claim him, right?

That rule only applies in season I believe.

He was designated for assignment, not waived.

Ah duh. Daniel Hudsen was the main trade chip in return.

This. The Rays had 10 days to find a trade partner or he would become a free agent. He wasn't placed on waivers.

Once he goes through the 7 (was just changed in last CBA) days, he can then be waived.

Gotcha. Having said that, I figured a team would trade for him though.

Still hanging in there as a reliever after two TJ surgeries.

Patato.

That's pretty brutal for Honeywell, he was definitely gonna be up with the Rays this year.

Ugh.. that is just awful. Top pitching prospect in the game too. Not sure if Reyes was before he tore his UCL, but second straight year a top pitching prospect goes down.

With the way pitchers get hurt, probably longer than "second straight." It's a shame.

You are right. And there will be more soon, unfortunately.

Yes. The latest data shows that 90% of UCL will return to prior level of function. The interesting part is that the rehab is getting more conservative in the last 5 years. The average rehab for MLB has gone from 12 months to close to 18 months..

Most UCL are now done on pitchers in minors. The primary is how often they throw at near max velocity.
