Hey man, I'm (of all people) trying to start this night on a positive note.

There goes Moncada's baserunning value on fangraphs, just because we didn't want to challenge

I hope it warms up by game time. It is freezing in downtown Chicago right now.

Hope Moncada looks good from the RH side, the rest of the game seems skippable today.

My wife literally just texted me this and I thought she was crazy cause it’s like 70 in the west burbs.

And a loss means Texas is 8 wins ahead of the Sox, too, so yeah if Moncada, Anderson and Davidson all want to go 2-4 and the rest of the squad wants to suck, it's fine by me. Abreu and Sanchez can get a hit or two if they want, also. :)

Freezing? Granted, I haven't been out in an hour but I felt good in short sleeves

He has looked encouraging from there lately in terms of batted ball results, so I look forward to him getting some more sample size in those RH/LH splits everyone loves to cite

It feels like it is pushing 80 degrees away from the lake.

The lake is probably still under 50 degrees.  Living 2 miles away from the lake front, we get sometimes a 20 degree temp difference if the wind is northerly versus southerly.  It will also blow in fog on a day like that pretty easily.

All true but I'm in Hyde Park, so also very close to the lake.

I just read that the last ice finally melted off Superior on the 15th.  The lakes are very cold.  One of the latest melt outs in recorded white man history.  At least it will be nice for some cool breezes on the beaches this summer around Chicagoland.

I was really close.  The crib in Chicago is 51.  Deep Water in Michigan City is 50

Also for a full view of the lake temps.

lake charlevoix at a brisk 39!  That is crazy.  at least the cold probably killed off a shitload of lampreys.

"Hope you don't mind if I sit this one out" ( name that tune ,bonus rep )

Hamels scratched. Fister going tonight.

Somehow, I think the Sox win 3 out of 4.  They're just due for baseball to happen.

Winning is more fun then losing so let’s strive mightily to win

Four game series? I'd say we win one of four. Two would be a blessing. But I'll say one.

Yeah -- as others have said, it's cold out. Ugly.

Not nearly as bad as those april games... but meh.

Let's go Moncada.

As was mentioned, Hamels was scratched. Here's the new lineup

I actually like that lineup

Foster and Shields.   This game may get you out of purgatory.

Hey we are fielding a MLB quality lineup tonight!  Neat trick, Sox.

I don't consider Nicky Delmonico batting cleanup to be MLB quality
