I also would love to get Castellanos out of our division. That dude is like a Grudzielanek level Sox killer.

  • Signing Pollock is a great way for Engel to get 350 ABs as the starting CF too.

  • You know, what about Yoan at catcher?         ?

Something tells me Anderson and him in the same locker room would it be a good idea.

I bet on the same team they would love each other. They are peas in a pod.

Yeah. I'm sure they'd get over it quickly.

To go from Beltre to possibly Davidson...yuck.

I continue to be surprised that the Dodgers aren't being more aggressive in filling their needs on the trade market. We'll see how it works.

I'm pulling for Milwaukee but I bet San Diego comes in with the heaviest offer.

As long as the Indians don't get "he who must not be named" from the Padres it'll be fine.

Indians want outfielders plus I'm sure the one is untouchable

Are the Indians re-tooling or rebuilding on the fly? Seems like an odd message to be sent if you're trying to compete by trading their ace.

Re-tooling. They'll get a piece or 2 in a trade that can help this year at the earliest.

That's going to hurt several times next season.

Twins gonna have some big power next year.

Cruz and Alonso certainly aren't the exact same player and maybe Alonso helps land Machado, but hard to think that Cruz doesn't out produce Alonso by $5 million next year.

If anyone was still worried Abreu might be traded, I think Cruz only getting 14 should help ease your mind a little.

I understand they aren't the same player, but I think it cements the fact that Jose is worth "about" what he is being paid, therefore shouldn't/wouldn't bring much of anything back in return... therefore the Sox aren't turning down prospects for keeping Abreu.

A tad more than I thought he'd get.  $14.3M is not nothing for a one dimensional player that is quickly approaching 40.

But it is hard for a one year deal to go too sour.  This also locks Sano into 3B for the Twins, and he is pretty terrible at 3B.  The Twins new front office really likes trying to build a squad off stopgap players.

God dammit that's a great deal for the Twins.  He's purely a DH but he's a good DH.  Would not be surprised to see him put up 3 WAR next year and hit 280/350/520.  That said, there's a non zero chance his BA craters and sucks up a lot of his value.  Not much value at 230/300/470.
