  • Ron, if you don't see how "the Sox could trade Abreu and get better at 1B" is leagues different than "Abreu should be DFAd", there's no hope for you. And no, I will not ban bet you.

  • Now were talking. If Jose gets traded for a package of Bukauskas and Beer, and I drive him to the airport, you get banned. If somebody else drives him, I get banned.

  • Tear it down! Prospects prospects prospects.

Love the player, but all for trading him while his value is high......

I'll take Cody Bellinger.

Trade him and offer Harper an extra $16 mil?

That's not happening.

Clearly to open up a spot for Yonder Alonso via trade, aka Machado’s brother-in-law

Could totally see it for one of their catching prospects or even Puig

yes, please

Sox aren’t trading Abreu while they try to recruit Harper & Machado.  Maybe if they miss out on those guys, but nothing beforehand.

Why in the world would we want Puig?

Who’s gonna babysit Yoan?

I’d be pretty disappointed in trading Jose unless someone overpays.

Doubt LAD overpays

I mean........I don't know how trading Jose would help with any top flight free agent coming here.

Dodgers have an insane amount of starting pitching also.  Wonder if Sox would try to go after someone like Wood or Stripling in a bigger deal

Same, I’d rather keep him and try to make this team interesting than giving up before it’s even started for a middling prospect we probably won’t even have room for on the 40 man in 500 days.

The last part of this is correct.

Maybe Thome is returning?

Keibert Ruiz, please.

We can resign him in a year anyway.  If the price is right,  adios Jose.

Doubt they trade him. Not right now when they're recruiting a big time free agent. Dodgers are just asking.

You don't trade him for that. Either they give up something of value, or you let him play out his contract.

Don’t think they will deal him unless the miss out on the big 2

I just don’t think Abreu has a ton of trade value. Man has a great stick and is paid appropriately for it. Little to no surplus value and limited defensively.

Id move him for Ruiz in a second. But I’d blown away if LAD is offering anything near that.
