This org does not particularly seem like they have any idea what they are doing.

This seems to be the truth

It's one thing to lose out on him. It's a whole other thing to lose out to the Padres.

Please up the offer and get this over with.

Let the panic ensue.. I will just have a beer, smoke a cigar and watch the entertainment.

Hey @Y2Jimmy what happened to your optimism have you heard anything?

That feels like a joke

Well either the Sox are really playing their part well in saying they can move on without Machado or they know that their strategy of waiting out Manny has failed.

Very soon we will know which it is.

He’s making fun of the people overreacting to this.

I still disagree with the win now part. One players in baseball doesn't turn a team around. They still need to stick to the rebuilding and bring the talented players up as they are ready. Machado will speed it up a little but they shouldn't abandon the plan and start signing mediocre players.

Now in my context was a relative word. Now equals 2020 not 2022 in my context.

This whole off-season has been a sick joke.

...but Moncada is a second baseman. A very rangy athletic speedy second baseman.

I agree I would rather just stick with him at 2B. Maybe they see him as a 3B eventually and better to transition in a down year?

So why not play Moncada there until madrigal gets up? That makes no sense

Dude it's sarcasm.

also that renteria quote makes no sense. why would moncada play 3rd this year, on opening day, when madrigal (the guess of why'd they move him) is down in AA ball?

I can see mixing him in, but you don't make your team better by flipping Yolmer and Yoan in the IF permanently.

This franchise.........

Which is exactly why I don't trust them until they earn it.

Should also say "if team doesn't sign Machado."

Here comes Merk

This organization's idea of a plan is quite stupid. How did jerry reinsdorf ever become successful?

Yes. Yes I am

If they know that 2B isn't his future,  why not have him learn now when his mistakes don't matter.

Meltdown time ??? calm down about moncada at 3rd.....today was the real first day of spring training? Why not give him some reps there.....jeez people calm down

Exactly.

I have to think it's more likely that we're playing a very weak hand with Lozano to show we have a long-term option at every spot in the infield.

Yup -- echoing the sentiment: CALM DOWN. Until Machado/Harper sign, there's no reason to blow up based off quotes on twitter.

I really thought "naw you guys are overreacting, sox aren't going to prematurely move their potentially plus plus 2b for a guy they just drafted that may not be there for 2 years if ever" but nope, yeah that's what they are doing.

One thing I'm pretty confident about: If Yoan can't cut it at 2B, he'll be worse at 3B.

Moncada does have good range but does not have the best hands or a great arm.

White Sox: Let's move him to third.
