  • Hello everyone.  Just want to clear a few things up - someone DM'd me this thread today looking for info/clarification on what I know/don't know. -I know the sox are in a very good spot.  This bu

    Just for some fun

I was optimistic, but I can't say I'm surprised.  The deal sounds like something the Sox should have beaten, especially if they were offering 8 years at $250M or so.  Leads me to believe that either the Sox never had any intention of going to 10 years or Manny decided he'd prefer to play in San Diego.

Well, Hector Gomez looks like a fucking moron now.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA THANKS JERRY

So, does anyone still think the Sox were ever serious about Harper, since he left a much better team and rejected $300 milllion?

And there it is.  They were not serious.  They were bargain hunting hoping to get him to agree due to market conditions.  The friends and family plan should of been a clue that they were never serious.

The left-side of the infield for the Padres going forward will be a constant reminder of the White Sox incompetency.

oh my god shut the fuck up kenny williams

Just another in a long list of fake insiders.

Like I said a few days ago, not my money so offer 10/300 and get the deal done.

I hope they switch gears and go hard for Harper now (but won't).

Clearly JR just needs to sell the team. I can’t imagine how anyone will forgive them for this.

Kenny saying they could't get to 300MIL level just took us out of the Harper derby.

I kept trying to avoid running my mouth about how inept they were because I thought there was a chance that they could actually do their jobs. But alas, every single thing I said about their incompetence is proven right. Once again.

Worst front office in baseball, worst White Sox general manager of my lifetime. And yes, that includes Hawk Harrelson. I don't even think it's up for debate any more.

I guess we can start calling Rick Hahn, Captain Ahab.

Boras just laughed, but lost a suitor.

they're a fucking joke.

The Chicago White Sox can't compete with the San Diego Padres financially.

That is whats KW is saying.

LOL

Lets be honest here, we were never really in the Harper derby as a serious suitor. The money was not there.

This right here is bullshit. They gave all the fans false hope. How do you not identify the fact that star players cost 30m+ a year now

Why's everyone so upset?

We still get to watch Moncada try to not strike out 200 times, Anderson try to reach the glorious .700 OPS mark for the first time in a full season, Luis Robert/Alec Hansen/Dane Dunning/Jake Burger/Micker Adolfo/Carlos Rodon try to play something even close to full seasons, Giolito try to post an ERA under 6, Zack Collins try to hit .250 at AA, and Luis Basabe try to play well enough to be worth caring about at all.

In positive news, I'm fairly confident that Eloy will hit .280 with an .800 OPS, Luis Gonzalez will continue to rise as a prospect, and ReyLo will perform as a serviceable #3 starter.

Yeah, probably not enough to excite me any more than last year's losers.

But at least we have Alonso, Jay, and Nova!

Hey, at least we have Jon Jay and Yonder Alonso!

They were going to lose one either way.
