Just frustrating to watch. All of this talk about "ride with us or die" and "shit or get off the pot," yet I see errors, pitchers getting behind constantly, throws getting away, no pressure on the basepaths, hitters not working counts,...yeesh

  • People complaining about the team aren't necessarily "miserable". It doesn't take much to make a post chastising a player for messing up. Doesn't mean watching the game pains them. Fans still want to

Might be time to end the Jones experiment. His body failed him his entire career,  and I think there has just been too much damage for him to be what he once was.

Wheeee.

What a Fucking circus

The bullpen- Fry, Colome, Herrera, Frare, Hamilton (when healthy), will be good. The Jones/Banuelos types are another story

Jace fry looked pretty shitty last year if I remember other than his first month or so of work

Herrera and Fry are gonna be gascans this year.

Jack it's not even April. Chris sale was throwing 92 his first start. Is he finished? Velocity can be down early in the season for a lot of reasons, weather being one.

Jones velocity has been depleted by about 200 injuries.

Yes Sale is finished. Next question

When you put up a three-spot it's important to let the other guys know who is in charge which should be obvious by now.

Little leaguers our there

It’s only 2 games, but they certainly don’t look major league in any way.

Possibly. When you've been injured as much as Sale has the last two seasons it isn't out of the question.  Boston may have messed up by signing Sale to that deal.

I looked at the link in that fangraphs article and they say it takes 3 starts to gauge fastball velocity.

Castillo’s effort this inning is pathetic

Jace Fry was one of the best relievers in baseball last year. 12.3 K/9, 6.5 H/9, 0/7 HR/9.

I don't see any reason to be down on Jace Fry this year vs the usual "you never know about relievers" kind of thing. He has good stuff and was nails last year.

Management needs to figure out a way to get these players motivated before that clubhouse starts to become a poison

Holy crap, if this bullpen is bad it is going to be a loooonnnngggg season!!!

Fry will be fine.

Fry made one mistake and got punished for it but looked pretty nasty otherwise.

Nah, you see, he allowed a hit and a walk today, so not only will he suck this year, but he sucked last year as well.

That inning wasn't even on Fry anyway. It was more Banuelos/Jones, Fry just allowed the one hit

FWIW, Statcast gives the Soler double an expected batting average of .230. Just placed it perfectly and didn't hit it super hard

Well, a little bit like the beginning of the movie.

I was surprised they picked up his option this past offseason.

Of course they did. Loyalty is paramount in this organization, unless you’re the best hitter in team history and one of the best in MLB history. Then they can invoke an obscure clause in your contract and let you go play for the As.

Fire coop!!!
