Can you please post their salaries again because there may be a poster or two who joined the site in the past 24 hours who hasn’t seen you reach the double digits yet in terms of mentioning this.

Eloy's still only 22 and playing his first 46 games in MLB, all while getting hurt. In 24 games since coming back from the IL he has a 264/319/585 line. Since coming back from injury that's a .905 OPS

What move did they make to clear room on the 40? Or did the Stephens move do that?

How long until the usual suspects come in here to rain on the parade and tell us how the rebuild is a failure?

Yeah, they’re at 39. Collins will probably be added Tuesday.

You get to shit on Abreu but get upset if anyone questions the rebuild?  How does that make any sense?

1 pitch into the at bat.

The only way Ron's Abreu hatred makes sense is if you think Ron is Abreu and can only succeed by creating a separate persona to give himself bulletin board material.

The rebuild has been good but the same GM acquired these guys as starter solutions.  Pretty awful.

Lol, 3 of the 4 guys you just listed were dumpster dives that cost the team nothing. Some people will b**** about absolutely nothing.

None of those guys were solutions. They're band aids. Somebody has to eat innings.

Thank God we dodged the Harper/Machado bullets. Kudos Mr Hahn.

You might want people to eat innings, I want and expect people to produce, enough already of expecting little and getting nothing.

Neat. I'm ready for strikeouts, bombs, and sub par catching.  Good luck kid.

And walks... don't forget walks.

Timing kind of sucks.

One of McCann, Abreu, or Collins will be on the bench against the Cubs.

Thing is, they would've had to get some GOOD starters and they just weren't going to spend the money. If Kopech's healthy they're probably 3-4 games over .500. It is what it is. 2020-2024 will be fun. Have a tad more patience and it's going to be fun

I hope the kid is tied to McCann by the hip and becomes a sponge. McCann's work ethic off the field preparing to call a game is second to none.

Hahn thought Nova was worthy of $9 million and Santana was worthy of $4.3 million.  He brought in 4 starters that have all been terrible.  A bad move is a bad move.  Is it b****ing or are you sugarcoating Hahn’s shortcomings?

Where you at @default? You're missing out

Only 2 years after Eaton was traded, the team is already 500 and quickly trending up. The front office has been awesome.

Yes and no. Some hits but a lot of misses especially this year with the FA market and of course the Alonso trade.

Generally when you lose 3 the top 5 or 6 SP in the organization you’re going to have to start some shitty pitchers.

And Santana cost the Sox like $400k. At least be accurate if you’re going to complain about minor league signings.

I don’t know what’s so funny.  Add it to the other money he wasted this past offseason.

Herrera ($18M)

Alonso ($9M)

Jay ($4M)

What does it say though where the only guys the Sox seem to be able to get are "dumpster dives" three years into a rebuild. Not trying to be sarcastic but if that is what they had to resort to, what does that say about the minor league system?

you do realize these players are just pace holders until they start to get good. None of these players were being counted on as pieces for the future.

I said that Hahn thought Santana was worthy of $4.3 million.  It’s Santana’s fault he didn’t make that money, not a decision by Hahn’s hand.

That’s fine but doesn’t it make you lose some faith in your GM when it comes to free agency when he decided to give these bums any sort of money?

Ummm....Eloy Jimenez.....

Eloy’s not really on that level...yet. Through 46 games, he’s got an OPS of .777. Acuna’s was .819, and Bellinger, Torres, Soto, and Riley were all above .900 at the same point. (FWIW, Riley strikes out a ton and he should come back to earth soon.)

It’d be great to see a guy come up and mash immediately, but there’s a lot of prospects who don’t. Buxton sucked for a couple of years, and Gallo’s first 50 games were disastrous and his next 300 were late stage Dunn-ish.

The biggest thing for Collins this year is to get some ABs, hopefully improve vs LHP, and work on his defense. He loses a lot of value if not behind the plate.

Because people still have hope the Sox will actually go after some big names in free agency.  I won’t fall for that again.  It’s not happening.  They will continue to dumpster dive.
