let him come in tomorrow as a pinch runner, but don’t let him run.

  • I haven’t felt this kind of release since I was 17

  • Reading these game-threads after the fact sure is a trip. It's like half of you have amnesia and are just discovering that the starting pitching is utter trash other than Giolito. Games like this are

That’s what I thought. Apparently the Red Sox trainer also came running out. Maybe something popped.

Do we get to extend the rebuild all the way to 2021 if Anderson is out for a long period of time...with rehab theoretically extending into next season?

This whole ridiculous mess with pitching is not Renteria's fault. I might be in the minority as I think Ricky has done a nice job with this club and the young guys

For a long time, Jimenez was in negative territory.   Of course, he got the biggest contract in team history.

He probably will turn out to be a lot like Carlos Lee...with more homers.  A really really nice player to have, but not a superstar in the modern game where you need to be able to run and throw or hit like JD Martinez.

Lopez and Jimenez get more leeway...however, Alonso, Nova, Banuelos, Cordell, Herrera(unfortunate surprise), Rondon, Ruiz,  and Despaigne can all be replaced.

Give it a rest, dude.

Devers can really hit. He runs the bases like he came out of the White Sox organization.

He also was a hack in the field although he has supposedly improved the last couple of months.  But I think the bat was what made them switch from Moncada being untouchable to available

Jose Islesias will be the SS then

Maybe it was bad timing to be listening to Adley Rutschman and his father talking about signing with the Orioles at precisely the same time I found out about the Anderson injury...

Now is certainly not the time.

Why, we still have Vaughny.

Or Alcides Escobar...whatever they do, they can’t let Engel come back to take Leury’s spot.

Hopefully Cordell gets another extended run of playing time in CF.

Escobar has been respectable in AAA. Bring up Mendick too and send down Rondon.

My god that was awful by Abreu. Selfish, stupid at bat.

JD Martinez would make me forget Abreu in a NY second

We have Goins and Palka too....Lots of options.....

Mendick is the type of player who does everything fairly well but doesn’t have loud tools and who almost never gets a shot in the big leagues...we’ll just have to wait and see.

Palka would be a great SS me thinks.

GREAT AB.

Players who do everything fairly well have long big league careers.

Ricky just sitting there letting ump screw over the hitters

God bless those of you who can pay an ounce of attention to the actual game, cuz I sure as hell cant.

I don't like complaining about umps...figuring things even out.  Lately...we have been getting screwed.

Abreu ?

Escobar, Mendick, and Palka should be up.  DFA Alonso, send Rondon down, IL Anderson.  What do we do with the relievers  pitchers though?

Realistically, the first time the Sox would likely be true WS contenders was already 2021, due to the TJ rehabs for Kopech and Dunning and  various other rehab/getting into baseball shape for several others.  They will continue to improve and be fun though, so nbd.
