Yonder DFA'd

Featured Replies

On one hand Yonder was dealt a tough hand here. He was seen as the embodiment of the failure to sign Machado.

On the other hand, I would let 20k people boo me 3 hours straight for less than 9mil.

Palka is awful. Amazing how many sox fans still think he is worthy of a mlb roster spot

You would have complained about that too. That's why nobody takes you seriously.

Call up Mendick.  Let Yolmer play SS.  Keep Leury in CF most days.

vs. RHP: Leury CF, Moncada 3B, Abreu 1B, McCann C, Jimenez LF, Jay RF, Collins DH, Mendick 2B, Yolmer SS

vs. LHP: Leury CF, Moncada 3B, Abreu 1B, McCann C, Jimenez LF, Jay RF, Mendick 2B, Yolmer SS, Rondon/Cordell/Whoever DH

Kind of reminds me of the scene in Money Ball where Phillip Seymour Hoffman refuses to make the lineup change Brad Pitt wants, so Pitt trades the guy to force the change.

I was told they were too stupid to not let his option vest.

Also, thank goodness. Wish him the best, but please get out of my face.

Past Due. Seems like a good teammate but he is TOAST.

Welp, I was wrong thought for sure they would wait until after his charity event.

I still think it was Ricky out smarting everyone by wanting a better player so he played Alonzo until Hahn traded him. (sarcasm, everyone).

Rick Hahn has just been lighting it up lately.

To quote Dr. DeRo... He's toast. Let him go.

Who’s going to ground out to second?

Taylor St. aka Rick's kid would probably say he's killing it. Only paid $230,769.23 per hit for Yonder.

THANK GOD!  As for who to bring up...isn't this what Escobar was signed for?...in case of injury to Tim?  They have two moves to make...no?

That's a great deal I tell you what.

I'm shocked...  Let palka get his ABs. Yonder seemed to be a good dude. But it didn't work out.... White Sox baseball where lefty power hitters come to die....

Or Collins. They do need pitching

They did give him plenty of opportunities to snap out of it. He never did. This was going to happen one way or another anyway, cut bait and let Collins strikeout for a while. Maybe he can figure things out.

Its pretty much guaranteed to be one of Kubat or Nicolino for tomorrow's start.  Unless they go another pen day.

And it should be Mendick for Timmy's spot, but wouldn't put Goins or Escobar past the Sox.

Jesus please no.

Ha. Rick Hahn is the brilliant mind who traded for Mr. Alonso. If this Sox team is 15 games out of the Division this time next year then it is time for Hahn to be sent packing as well.

What is the fascination with Mendick?

Cease?

Cease is set to start tonight in Charlotte so it won't be him.

Rick once put together a Major League team that finished as close as 16.5 games to winning a division. This guy is a baseball savant.

The Sox could easily  make 4 moves today THAT MAKE SENSE and fly all 4 guys from Charlotte by the bulk

Friday's SP for Alonso (DFA)

Mendick for Rondon (DFA to make room on the 40)

Palka for Cordell (straight 25 man move)

Goins / Escobar for Ruiz/Viera (DFA to make room on the 40 - TA IL if it's Viera)

Then you send Goins/Escobar back down when Covey is ready to rejoin the rotation.

He had a good spring and hasn't proven that he's not an MLB player like Goins and Escobar have. He's more intriguing at the very least even if he projects as more of a utility player too.
