Why is Collins on this roster if he is going to play once every 7 days?

They need a backup catcher and they already saw enough of Zavala. If Castillo wasn't injured he'd be starting more. Palka or Collins  will go down when Beef returns.

I'm about to hand out bannings to those who stupidly overreact.  Its for your own good...maybe you can learn to be something other than a miserable piss.

I’m taking off early today, heading to the airport, and getting absolutely smashed at a bar while watching Cease dominate these Tigers!  Can’t fucking wait!!

I don't mind the bunt there since it worked.

Two good PA's for Cordell today

Three*

leury trying to make it 8-3 on that swing.

Alcides Escobar might actually be a better use of roster spot than Palka

Doubleheader, but point taken. He should play more.

Let's get Cease his first win bullpen!

Moncada is glad Norris is out of the game. Didn't pick him up at all.

They had to know a squeeze was coming. Is there any way to defend that if the bunt gets down?

Catcher would have to stay home so as long as the bunt is far enough away from the pitcher its a run?

I will say unlike the previous years we actually have guys that can get a bunt down.  That's refreshing.  if you're going to bunt so fucking much at least have guys that can execute it.

still, you play for one run...you'll score one run.

Well he has to start the next game

I honestly thought he would've been catching Cease today since he knows him as a catcher. Was shocked to see McCann catching him. Not complaining though.

I think the Cordell bunt was the result of trying to weigh the relatively unlikelihood that he gets a hit and relatively higher likelihood of double play

Cordell stabbed at that first pitch.  Much better job catching the ball with his bat on the 2nd one.  And nice hustle down the line by the way...pay attention Jay you bum!!

1) you gotta hold the guy on 3rd

2) you gotta have some sort of IF play to counter it ready.  Usually hard charging 1B or pitcher.

Detroit didn't seem to do any of that.

I guess Ricky is in love with this team speed.

Eloy seems fairly fast in a straight line and appears to be a good baserunner.  Has the agility of a baby giraffe in LF however.

Cease in line for the win and Eloy with 2 runs scored so far...Thanks Cubs!!

Yoyo turning into a vacuum at 3rd is nice.

Detroit announcers quite impressed by the expert execution of the squeeze bunt.

Makes it look so easy.

Nice 2 innings from Marshall.

Buck Farmer has to be one of the most "baseball" baseball player names ever.

Tremendous to see Marshall looking good again...great outing.  Nice to get a couple of innings out of him with a game coming up tonight.
