Lopez exits game while pitching no hitter w/ flu like symptoms & dehydration

Featured Replies

His velocity was way down in the 5th, and Ricky pulled him with no hits allowed and 80 pitches thrown. No word on why yet. They really can't afford another injury to a pitcher.

Dehydration and flu like symptoms according to the Sox.

Shouldn’t someone be making sure the pitcher in particular stays properly hydrated?

Might be a good idea to change this thread title before Parkman causes someone to have a heart attack.

Lol. I made this before they said why he was pulled.

I’m not blaming for the thread, just saying now that the news is out there we should probably change the title.

That was your first mistake.

Hangover Sundays

You have to be hydrated well before the game. It's a job with your big boy pants on. If tomorrow is your start you retire early which most guys would do.

Maybe he had too much coffee before the game since it's a diuretic.

When will these immature athletes learn to drink water like us professional message boarders?

You'd think he would have an IV drip going BEFORE the game.

My best games I've ever played and pitched have been on Hangover Sundays. Hard to explain...

The reporters who pestered Lopez after the game to dig down deeper into what "flu-like symptoms" meant got there answer - diarrhea.

The guy had the sh1ts . Let it go now .

There has to be a clue there if you are pitching hitless ball with the flu. Imagine what he might throw if he had a touch of ebola.

Think he shit himself on the mound?

Those black uniforms come handy.  Imagine if it were those white ones.

Maybe he should always pitch with the flu. Or atleast get an IV before every game.

1. If he has the flu, it becomes much more difficult to stay hydrated

2. The someone you are referring to is Lopez. He knows his body better than anyone and is a professional. At the ML level, a coaching staff shouldn’t have to tell a player to drink more water.

Well I can certainly agree with what you’re saying I would not necessarily think the coaching staff or the trainers would be watching the pitcher. They seem to be involved in everything else

As if Yolmer Sanchez is letting anyone in that club go unhydrated.
