Did Olney explicitly mention that the Sox are interested in David Price?

Yes. He also explicitly mentioned Andrew Benintendi. It is unclear whether or not that was speculation.

It was theoretical with Benintendi

I do not want David Price. He is 34 and past his prime. That does not fit with what we are trying to accomplish

Isn't Benintendi a CF'er originally and only was moved to LF because of Bradley? Could the Sox get away with Eloy, Benintendi, and Robert?

“The Red Sox potential could attach Benintendi to Price”...also mentioned WSox having prospects

Why are we moving Robert from his best position?

He was really good last year before he got hurt. IF he’s healthy, I’m fine with it.

Kinda with you, but there aren't many better options.

Not sure what's more frayed my fandom for the Sox or this bum's fucking UCL.

QFT.

If Boston was attaching Benintendi, and adding a ton of salary with Price, they'd want Vaughn and Collins. I think Vaughn should be used for a SP other than Price.

Ew. No.

Benintendi+$26M+Price for Collins and Rutherford.

I'd be fine with that.

They aren't. He'll be in CF.

Boston did like Collins in the draft

They aren't going to trade price/benentendi for that. Even if the white Sox absorb the entire contract.

I said Boston would want Vaughn included. I wouldn't want that. It's hard to say what Boston would want if they included Benintendi.

Price's arm might be shot and Benintendi is just a guy at this point.

I might get chewed up and spit out for this but I still think MadBum has a lot left. I understand metrics from last year were not good but he's only 30.  I'm not sure how he would fit on this team personality wise.

They arent exactly in a position to bargain.

Really have a hard time seeing Boston trading benintendi. They are trying to get rid of Bradley who only has one yr left of control and Betts who they want to keep but have trouble financially has a yr left as well. They could be losing 2 everyday outfielders next yr and trading benintendi would make the entire outfield need to be replaced in the next yr.

It’s home-away splits more than anything that should keep us away. He’s terrible away from SF.

How is it this board says no to madbum but wants an Oft injured expensive guy like price. Sox do this and the window is 3 years tops

I think this is a smokescreen and they are really after Bryant. (where's the green)
