January 22, 20206 yr I thought I remember listening to a podcast where Covey was, like, livid that his previous team left him unprotected on the Rule 5 draft, and how that got him super motivated to prove himself. Never really materialized. Still won't forget that amazing run he had in 2018, where he beat some pretty tough teams, including a gem against the would-be world champion Red Sox. But still thankful he won't be with us anymore. Wonder where he will go. Detroit?

January 22, 20206 yr The Sox were certainly very generous to Covey with playing time that his performance didn't warrant. But he never developed, so I can see him wanting to leave and try some different instruction/coaching.
