Eric says sounds like Gonzales to Pit.

Jeff Ellis had him to the Sox in September. The streak is dead.

  • I'll say this, I trust this system to develop a hard throwing college lefty a lot more than a high school bat

  • Howard needs to do right by the Sox and turn down millions to go to school.

  • Eh, the Sox can get Ed Howard in four years when they trade for Reynaldo Lopez in a pennant chase

San Diego wouldn't pass on Veen would they?

I'm surprised ESPN hasn't highlighted all of Spencer Torkelson's dead relatives and friends.

They’ve been linked to hs outfielders last few months. If he gets past them, Sox could have a good chance.

Emerson Hancock stinks.

Cherington lucks into Gonzales at 7.

The real question is if ESPN skips from pick #10 to #12 with their propensity to entirely forget about the Sox

No reason to get cute, just take Howard and call it a day.  With the benefit of hindsight, we should have probably taken the Midwest kid in Kelenic back in 2018.  Let’s not make the same mistake twice with a kid right in our own backyard.  Ed is exactly the type of talent you pick in our spot.

Eric thinks Veen goes to the rockies. Not official though.

Starting to move now

Cherrington is gonna be great for the Pirates

Then Soderstrom should be available at 11

In their mock they gave the pick to Texas so why not.

DING DING DING. It's not even a question. In a draft with a lot of questions, take the guy with a ton of talent, all the tools, and a great work ethic. A kid you know inside and out. Don't get cute; take the kid with the biggest ceiling there is.

If the Sox lost 2 more games last season, Veen would be on the board for them ?

Veen/Detmers/Abel?

Veen doesn't seem like the type of slider that gets the Sox to deviate from their plan coming in.

Was that really in question?

soderstrom over Detmers? I say go BPA, but it will be interesting.

Nick Gonzalez is mitch trubisky

Would be a shame if all this madness and moving around takes places in picks 2-10 and the Sox don't end up having anyone actually fall to them. As of now, everyone taken was already supposed to be go before pick #11 anyway, so this hasn't affected the Sox at all yet.

He was supposed to go 9 or 13

Yep. Still seems like they will be picking from the players we expected to be there at 11.
