Garcia to 45 day IL

Featured Replies

Damns.  Leury managed to stay healthy for a minute.  But I'm sadly not surprised to see him moved over to the 45 day IL.

It’s pointless trying to get any of these guys who haven’t been in a team’s camp.

Talk to him now, he could be ready for September run.

He exists only to be offended.

No. The Garcia is a sure heal with no impact on future performance. It's about a 12 week rehab post surgery.

Also bummed for Hamilton.  He was throwing well until his last outing,  which is probably when he hurt himself.

His season sounds like its cashed

So there’s still a chance he can pull off a Geoff Blum in the World Series!

Caulfield, he was scratching him off because of domestic abuse.

We're all aware that Russell can actually play baseball.

Yes, I'm WELL aware of that.   Just didn't realize he was outside of the United States until I looked him up, so no ethical debate regardless.

True. I would think Leury's problem is big for an MLB player. Ptatc? Interesting way to stall or maybe end a career. Very silly decision to slide into first like he did.

Awful, he was doing really well

Awful injury luck around the league so far, we may have been hit hardest

The Royals have had 19 players hit the injury list, the Braves have had 16 (including Albies, Hamels, Soroka, so not small names). The White Sox currently have had 10.

We’ve had two serious injuries (Madrigal and Garcia) and one minor one (Eloy)  this year that resulted from baseball stupid plays

It’s on the team for not putting a stop to it earlier. “If I see you slide headfirst into first base again, you don’t play”.

Ricky’s Boys Don’t Listen

Really anyone slides headfirst though. It is dumb but players are doing it all the time because they think they can avoid a tag better.

I think even trout still does it on SB attempts despite having hurt his thumb before that way.

There is no tag going into first.

No it's an easy fix. This ligament tends to pop off one end as opposed to tearing in the middle like some ligaments. They just go in, find it and then tack it down.

Correct and look at the records of all 3 teams. All around or below .500. The point is that it's difficult to win with this many injuries. All 3 are proving it.

Of course the royals would have been bad even without the injuries:)
