  • Can not argue with the facts.  Adam Engel has contributed far more to this season than EE.  I would hate to see Adam go elsewhere far more than EE.

Id suggest this team would be at least 5 or 6 games better in the standings if Ozzie was skipper.    It’s a shame the best team in baseball is underperforming so badly.

  • We need a shakeup.  New Manager...New Lineup...New Owner.  I don't care what...just something.  This is getting unwatchable.  The Cards looked a lot more ready to play these games than we did.

Ok, we have a lead and Mazara had an at bat...put Engel out in RF

Seems he keeps taking fastballs down the plate and going after breaking pitches

Him, Eloy even Moncada a bit. I'm willing to give Moncada a pass moreso than others because of having covid.

The stuff that made Giolito successful is still there but the command isn't as much.

Like I said I think Giolito's delivery is a bit off.

The only hitters on the team I'm even cautiously optimistic on are Moncada and Robert.

Eloy is, imo, never going to be a high average guy. He'll slug a ton and that's plenty. Moncada has scuffled but like you said, he's probably exhausted. I was never sold on Giolito as a true #1. I hope I'm wrong

I am not a fan of Engel but what has Mazara done to be considered an every day player?

Is Heuer only going to get 1 inning?

We cannot hit 93mph fast balls right down the middle

He threw around 25 pitches, so I'd imagine

I was hopeful on Giolito as a true #1 but he's looking like a strong #2. Has flashes of dominance but not consistent enough to be an ace. There's a lot riding on Kopech right now. Given how bad Giolito was in 2018 I think we'll all take that.

Might have gotten a second inning if that error had not happened

1-1

That was fast. This was not the right spot for Burdi, but oh well

Welp that was a no doubter

I wouldn't draw that conclusion based on this messed up season. He's had 5 starts with a very limited "Spring training" and we have no idea what kind of work he was able to do for months. If he was doing this in a normal year, we'd be saying "it's only April, he just needs to get into a groove for a month and he'll look fine" or "his numbers are still worse than they should be because of that one opening bad game, give it time".

About the only conclusions worth drawing from this season are ones we probably thought beforehand. Things like "Juan Soto is pretty darn good" or "Carlos Rodon gets hurt a lot", those you can probably convince me of.

That was 94 whereas the first pitch was 97. What the hell was that?

Great pitch selection

Damn I thought I was quick but i was 12 seconds behind on SoxMath win... maybe my broadcast is lagging

Lead no more

Just can’t make those type of mistakes against someone like Goldschmidt.

With the way the offense is going bullpen games will be a disaster as 5 to 7 guys will have to be lights out and if any have abad day the game is over.

Nice play by Mendick
