The ev on that Schoop homer had to be at least 110

The question is...will he ever be able to command his pitches to where he's not giving up a few homers every other inning?

Its the dumbest coup out answer too.  There’s enough ABs to give both plenty but give both plenty of rest from catching.

Exactly.

throw.  fucking. strikes.

I’ve watched the slo mo of TAs bomb, it’s insane how fast he got his hands through.

mendick bails out mazara, FFS.

Command just hasn’t been there this season, but I think he’ll figure it out soon enough.

Mendick can pick it.

luckily this Tigers lineup isn't very good.

That was a 99mph fastball at the top of the zone and that guy scalded it.

There are some pitchers that throw hard but hitters make a ton of hard contact against their fastballs anyway. Cease is one of them. Lopez is another.

If SoxTalk gamethreads don’t always feel like an endless time loop, then this post has to happen

He's gone through 2 innings with only 24 pitches and thrown twice as many strikes as balls. That's pretty good for him.

If only it were that easy for a non TOR pitcher.

come on mazara lay that arm guard onto the ball.

Well that was good by Mazara

Mazara!  A hit!

Nice job by Mazara against the lefty

We hope he's one eventually, or at least a good three, so he better find some more of 'em.

There's something about a pitcher's fastball that causes hitters to be late. Cease and Lopez don't have it. Apparently Scherzer has below average carry but still gets whiffs.

Hitters reaction matters more than anything else. They're all over Cease more often  than not.
