August 31, 20205 yr We really need to know the headliner to this deal. That'll tell the story. We can speculate from there because it narrows the names down.
August 31, 20205 yr So confirmed name is Heuer and the possibility of Collins as well due to him not being the taxi squad catcher....
August 31, 20205 yr He could be throwing Heuer's name out there just because he didn't pitch in today's game.

August 31, 20205 yr Heuer pitched his only 2 inning outing of the year against Milwaukee this year. They got a good look at him. It was 2 perfect innings on only 20 pitches, while striking out 3.

If this were dynasty league, the trade would be shot down in a NY minute. I don’t disagree, but he’s definitely not the blue chip prospect we all remember from Cincinnati.

I wouldn't want to be subtracting from the major league roster right now. Heuer’s involvement also suggests it’s a team looking to retool than rebuild. Both the Indians & Brewers fit the mold there and perhaps the Diamondbacks?
August 31, 20205 yr Yes, the Padres indeed made a really big splash here. Lol Edited August 31, 20205 yr by maloney.adam
August 31, 20205 yr For shits and giggles, let’s assume Kopech, Heuer, and Collins are all available. Would those three packaged together be enough to get Woodruff? I think so but I’d like to hear everyone’s opinions.

August 31, 20205 yr Sorry if I'm missing something but I get the Rangers trading Lynn but why would the Brewers trade Woodruff, a guy with lots of control left unless it was a deal they couldn't refuse?

August 31, 20205 yr I admire what the Padres are doing, but it’s not what I want the White Sox to do. Don’t go all in. Make a trade or two fine. But don’t panic.
August 31, 20205 yr Not Steve Cishek mentioned reinforcements though so I’m guessing there’s more coming back to the Sox. Who else would be involved? Any guesses? Hader? Yelich? Edited August 31, 20205 yr by maloney.adam

This. I’m guessing if Hahn does pull this off there is your other starter under control for a long period of time, best part of it if we keep cease and dunning Giolito Keuchel Woodruff Cease Dunning I could ride with that....let’s go!

Both the Indians & Brewers fit the mold there and perhaps the Diamondbacks? My first thought was the Diamondbacks because of Bradley. If Heuer is to be traded, I think that adds high leverage reliever to the list of the Sox needs.

August 31, 20205 yr Kudos to @fathom on calling out Heuer being a legit trade chip during today’s game. I thought it seemed crazy, but totally seems legit now.
August 31, 20205 yr Lol at the guy saying NSC put his nuts on the table. Is this the farthest away a person can be from manliness? Pretending internet scooping matters and then spending time on it? its all on the line NSC! It’s all on the line!
