It would be nice if the Sox just gave Bauer what he wants, keep the prospects, and win the World Series. That’s just me though.

  • This only puts them in a better position to compete with us.

  • They brought back Eaton and hired La Russa....I'm not sure they are concerned about team chemistry all that much.

Hey, everyone starts somewhere

I will say it would be very White Soxish to leak they’re after Springer while secretly pursing Bauer.

I would love to see it.

Bauer should have been target #1 all along.

Feel like a good time for a Stan’s Donuts burner account to arise and announce that Bauer is actually our primary target.

HomeRunInnBuffet created the twitter account right after you said this. Lol

Bauer really is the optimal solution. He’s the best starting pitcher on the board and the Sox wouldn’t have to trade away any prospects to get him. Do it, Jerry.

It was fun to dream for an hour

Get Bauer and then trade for Benintendi or another LH hitting RFer.

What if the insiders saying this isn't going to happen are just apart of a concerted series of leaks to throw people of the trail so they don't ruin the Bauer signing by making it public too early?

I like Joel Sherman a lot but this screams more just looking at fits and making a guess. By fit - Bauer is perfect here or in NY. But that doesn’t get you much farther

They should have used Stan’s Donuts

At least he said the Sox have money to spend.

Harold are you trying to throw us off the scent to protect the secret?

HogWildPorkChops or ZarlengosItalianIce for those of us from south suburbs

Has anyone checked Bauer's glove he ordered? Or the cap he's wearing?

I’m going to start one named SubmarinePortSubs

I’m just confused at this point. Both national guys and our own insiders like Harold are saying the Sox will be spending this offseason, especially after hiring TLR. But not on Bauer, not on Springer, not on insert real difference-maker here. Maybe my idea of spending is just misguided.

That said, I would be happy, although not overwhelmed, by an offseason of Joc + Lynn + Quintana, or something close to that

Maybe the intent to spend means using it on existing contracts in trades and not going nuts via free agency?  You know me though, I would love Bauer or Springer.

Fully agree on what constitutes spending.

Bauer is a fit on the short term deal he has been looking for.  I think we get him.

I would pass on a mega million multi-year deal for Springer.
