Perhaps the dominance of our starters does not carry over to the best opponents.

What do I care about Ruiz, Burr, and frankly, Heuer, based on their performance right now? All 3 can be sent down right? Lopez can’t be worse than them, because the worst he could be is awful and the

We have three all star caliber players out

He's not coming back so it doesn't really matter, but Madrigal is obviously a huge loss as well. He's someone who could at least make contact against Burnes.

They so desperately need a legit 2nd baseman

We really need a second baseman. Too bad Hahn will be taking a nap during the deadline as he usually does.

Gio's most recent start before last night he dominated the best lineup in baseball. Some nights you aren't going to have it.

Particularly against elite pitching.  We have too many AAA type hitters in the line up nowadays with lack of plate discipline.

that is why I am torn at Escobar over Frazier. Power would be nice...but come playoff time...contact will matter.

Whoops, totally forgot about him, but yeah his hit tool adds some consistency against tougher SPs.

Schoop swings a powerful bat also

I still can’t believe some people are ok with Leury as the everyday guy.  A 2B upgrade is a must.

Umpiring continues to be horrible

Man, that strike call was BS.

Hey pitch framing again

What the fuck was that call?

Horrible Keystone cops type defense unworthy of a first place team on the 2nd inning.  Dodged a bullet.  Could have been 4-0 now.

Our winning percentage against teams above .500 is like .375.

Carlos didn't get that call...

Hopefully this series is a wake up call. Not going to be facing Ober and others in the postseason.

He's not going to. Look at the catching difference.

Fully agree

Of course Rodon would be one of the hitters that actually makes contact

Carlos just made more contact than almost the whole starting lineup...

Frazier is a no brainer for me if they have the prospects to get a deal done. But I'll settle for Escobar if not.

Collins shrinks the strike zone dramatically when he's back there. Blame the umpires all you want, but framing will be a massive part of the game until there's an automated zone.

i was telling my buddy who is also a white sox fan that this series would probably be very painful.

and so far its just as i thought it would be.

Interesting that the pied piper of crying about the strike zone suddenly changes his tune.
